BI Reporting Director
Summary
Design and create robust reporting solutions that meet established specifications, design criteria, quality standards and business requirements with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities
• Provides technical expertise to data analytics and enterprise on all reporting capabilities and work flow
• Acts as point person for all reporting tools, including MicroStrategy, Tableau, and SSRS
• Ability to project plan, learn quickly, connect business needs to the data, and work in a fast pace environment
• Reviews and analyzes the reporting environment to make recommendations for improvements and/or upgrades
• Leverages knowledge of current software development methodologies to contribute to the overall planning of projects by recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines
• Participates in projects through the various phases
• Provides post production support
Requirements
• Demonstrates expertise in all components of MicroStrategy including projects, intelligent cubes, reporting, visual insight, and mobile integration
• Design and develop semantic layer deliveries for end user effectiveness.
• Responsible for MicroStrategy administration including user management and service maintenance.
• Design and monitor end-user reporting tools and systems, ensuring reports are accurate and up-to-date.
• Performs user & account administration; demonstrates deep knowledge of license types and privileges to support end user needs.
• Creates ad hoc and subscription reports using MicroStrategy and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Tableau Server software installation and administration.
• Management of the Tableau Server’s users, groups, and integration.
• Design, maintain, and monitor Tableau dashboards and reporting for business users.
• Ability to create free-form SQL for MicroStrategy reports, documents, and dashboards
• Manages Stored Procedures, Data Transformation Services (DTS) and/or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) data from transaction systems into the reporting environment
• Comfortable with both T-SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Conducts code and security code reviews.
• Performs troubleshooting and analysis to assess root causes of technical reporting and data warehouse issues.
• Maintains a high degree of knowledge on current technologies and tools
• Makes recommendations to improve operating efficiency and functionality of assigned systems areas.
