Job Description Summary:
To plan, organize, direct and control all efforts relative to the design, definition, development, implementation and maintenance of computer systems, applications, projects and programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or business or related field with emphasis in a quantitative discipline. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Extensive experience in systems development including design, development, implementation and maintenance of large batch or online transaction based systems. Experience in the majority of the following: mainframe, distributed systems, client server, relational systems, transaction and message systems, embedded systems, imaging and systems management and operation. Previous management experience, strong leadership, human relations and communication skills required.
Job Specific Details:
This position provides leadership for HR Technologies and is responsible for the implementation of Enterprise scalable HR solutions to accelerate, including but not limited to Workday. This includes solutions and processes associated with hire to retire pipeline, Vendor Management Office and Safety Solutions. This position is responsible for the continued build-out and management of key Enterprise IT solutions while ensuring the retirement of legacy applications.
• There will be 5 IT Managers reporting to this Director.
• The Director will be responsible for approximately 45 employees and 150 Contractors
The successful candidate will plan, organize, and direct all efforts relative to the design, definition, development, implementation, and maintenance of HR applications. The successful candidate will work closely with the multiple business owners utilizing Renewal Technical Tenets to continue delivering on FedEx’s Human Capital Management Transformation strategy through the following programs:
• Strategic leadership modernizing the global HR experience, supporting TNT integration
• Deliver on Workday roadmap to realize vision of a single platform for employee engagement and analytics across the global, enterprise landscape
• Own and strategically direct vendor relationship for FedEx IT Vendor Development Partners.
• Modernize vendor management processes and solutions to match IT modernization journey through Renewal
• Empower the various business partners with data analytics to drive continued modernization of business processes
• Modernize Safety solutions through adoption of enterprise solution
Knowledge and Skills Considered a Plus:
This position requires a strong transformational leader with experience in leading teams. Skills are as follows:
• Utilization of modern architecture principles to drive changes in processes, development tools, and frameworks to accelerate value delivery.
• In-depth knowledge/understanding of Renewal Principles, Renewal Technical Tenets and the IT Systems Model.
• Experience leading transformation to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Expertise in development lifecycle including, systems architecture, design, software build-out, design principles and understanding security, scale and reliability.
• A firm track record of dealing with the challenge associated with software consolidation at an Enterprise scale.
• Proven ability to drive to lean processes and solutions that create acceleration while meeting compliance requirements.
• This position requires an exceptional business focused individual to take on and drive the long-term vision of the solutions to support organizational needs.
