Description:
BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE:
The Maintenance (Engineering) Transformation Director is responsible to lead Maintenance Transformation activities at BBU manufacturing facilities to improve equipment reliability. Transformation activities will focus on 3 areas of maintenance (People, Process, and Tools). The Maintenance Transformation Director will lead the activities of the Transformation team through the Regional Transformation Managers engaged in assessing current state of maintenance and developing/executing action plans to close the identified gaps.
This person will be instrumental in working with the operations leadership team to identify the needs of the environment and creating a new business platform. The Director will put in place the people, process and related tools and resources to enable the business to change the paradigms and reimagine the way BBU operates its bakeries. True influencing skills will be critical for the success of the project scope and delivery. Key responsibilities include the development of the overall organizational strategy and subsequent implementation for broader support across the country.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing Transformation and is based in Horsham, Pennsylvania. This position has 4 direct reports but being a true influencing role, the capability of leadership and mentorship is critical.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Supports the assessment of current maintenance processes and programs against asset reliability vision to identify gaps that need to be addressed.
• Builds action plans to address gaps in maintenance program to achieve sustainable asset reliability
• Leads the development of content for BBU Maintenance playbook
• Support the implementation of a new way of working -- management structure, operating systems and mindsets, behaviors and capabilities of maintenance plant associates from front-line associates through plant leadership.
• Creating a new business platform to include the department’s work plan. Establish goals and strategic plans. Work directly with business, and partners to implement short and long-term goals. Develop and manage appropriate evaluation and reporting processes to determine program success and effectiveness.
• Enable and drive accountability, consistency, quality, and process standardization across all phases of Maintenance Transformation.
• Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of various workforce training and placement programs for the Maintenance Transformation team. Identify and cultivate job and training opportunities for specified demographic.
• Effectively manages/communicates project milestones, timelines, budgets/financials, and critical path issues to core/implementation team members and to senior management, as appropriate.
• Identify areas for internal process improvement and construct/lead process flow for newly created innovation work flow.
Position Requirements:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• 10 years of professional experience leading a maintenance organization, in a major company in the CPG, Food, Baking, Brand Management, Innovation, Food Manufacturing areas.
• Familiar with the principles of lean manufacturing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and peers. Must have strong working knowledge of and the ability to effectively influence cross functional disciplines.
• Strong project management skills – both strategic and tactical is critical.
• Strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to multi-task required in fast-paced environment.
• By working both independently and with the team, candidates are expected to bring a creative and analytical skill set to solving strategic issues.
• The ability to understand and navigate through a truly matrix environment.
• Readiness to travel up to 75% between multiple BBU locations. International travel is possible.
