Primary Responsibilities:
1. In conjunction with National Account Managers, build chain marketing platforms and events that leverage the potential of the company's broad portfolio.
2. Lead and organize company's involvement with various business and community functions, including industry organizations and charities which partner with key chain customers.
3. Research and develop sales and marketing strategies which identify growth for chain accounts and for Columbia Distributing.
4. Drive National Accounts Team's vertical call coverage goals by participating in sales calls with chain accounts and building relationships with their buyers and their senior managements.
5. Lead company-sponsored training and education programs that build National Accounts Team's competencies, with special focused on developing National Account Managers' skills around NA Beverage marketing plans and agreements.
6. Manage individual position expense and sales line to budget.
7. Enforce all liquor laws according to state law and regulations regarding product sales.
8. Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned.
9. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with those of the Company's Core Values at all times.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Education/Training:
• Bachelor's or advanced degree
• High school diploma or GED required
Licenses/Certifications:
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance required
Experience:
• Minimum of five (5) years previous beverage industry sales experience, preferably in a chain-facing role
Knowledge/Skill:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with an AS400 system
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers
• Knowledge of budgetary processes and influence on business objectives
• Ability to build presentations utilizing standard computer software programs
• Demonstrate flexibility in overcoming problems and personalities
• Ability to focus and work cross functionally across many levels of organization
• Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Physical Requirements:
1. Lift/Carry and Push/Pull up to 50 lbs.
2. Bend/Stoop/Crouch/Squat
3. Use arms/wrists/hands/grasp
4. Use of industry tools: hand truck, six wheeler, manual pallet jack, box cutter
5. Ability to travel throughout the day for visits to customer accounts
6. Work indoors with frequently walking in customer accounts
