Job Summary
Operates and leads any position within the warehouse and occasionally directs production activities and personnel for assigned shift.
Essential Functions
• Assumes responsibility for the total operation of the shift.
• Ensures adherence to production schedule.
• Leader of daily crew meetings that include issues such as: safety, quality and production.
• Ensures adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Responsible for running machinery and troubleshooting problems.
• Creates KPI reports and troubleshoots quality issues.
• Monitors hiring, training of new hires, employee morale and development.
• Ensures adherence to safety principles and practices.
• Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
Additional Functions
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Requires an Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to run, or learn to run and troubleshoot all equipment in the Warehouse.
• Excellent attendance and safety record.
• Desire to grow with the company.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Possess general understanding of export requirements and policies.
• Ability to calculate correct percentages of product types to be used in product blends, based on existing recipes/formulas.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Possess good understanding of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Loss Control, and Safety policies/practices.

• Regularly involves, talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
• Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
• Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, and/or kneeling.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
• Involves moderate physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
• Should be able to judge distances and spatial relationships.
Typical Environmental Conditions
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment and light traffic).
• May work near mechanical moving parts and in cold temperatures.
Travel Requirements
• Minimal travel limited within the local area.
