The Role
Hitachi Vantara is looking for an outstanding Director to lead the Pricing Transformation office, reporting directly to the Vice President leading the Global Strategic Pricing Organization, you will be able to apply your knowledge of pricing strategy and operations to solve impactful business problems and scale the pricing operating model and capabilities across people, policies, process, data and systems. This includes the owning and driving pricing enablement across the core and new IoT/XaaS solutions, inclusive of advanced pricing analytics capabilities.
You will lead the design and implementation of pricing-related capabilities and processes to deliver advanced analytics, automation, and pricing enablement for the field. You will engage in vendor selection activities for systems required to enable pricing and licensing automation and execution across the entire portfolio of offerings.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience, competence and confidence in quickly and successfully implementing enterprise applications, designing optimized workflows and processes, leveraging information from multiple sources and systems, and assessing and automating operational capabilities to achieve best-in-class efficiency and enablement.
To succeed, you will need exceptional problem-solving expertise and attention to detail, as well as the ability to adapt quickly in a business environment where transformation is constant. You will also need to bring a broad knowledge of Hitachi Vantara’s offerings and target markets, and be able to leverage that knowledge to design, implement and maintain automated, scalable systems, processes, and tools that deliver the information to confidently make better pricing decisions more quickly.
Responsibilities
• Facilitating the management and cadence of the end to end pricing ecosystem, maximizing cross-functional synergies to deliver a closed loop process
• Overseeing all strategic initiatives within the organization to ensure consistency in execution and results
• Partner with offering owners and operational leaders from across the organization to define business requirements and implement automation to enable licensing, packaging, quoting and monetization of subscription, consumption/utility, and other selling models
• Drive the implementation of strategic pricing guidance and analytics to support optimal price realization and operational efficiency for the entire Hitachi Vantara portfolio across all routes to market
• Collaborate on enabling scalable capabilities for product packaging, licensing and pricing structures across core and new XaaS/IoT solutions
• Collaborate on innovative solutions to meet the competitive pricing intelligence decision support needs across the business
• Lead or support virtual cross-functional teams to deliver continuous improvement of pricing-related capabilities
Qualifications
• MBA preferred combined with demonstrated knowledge and professional experience in operational and quantitative discipline
• 3+ years of experience in pricing and/or strategic financial analysis, business planning or analysis, or similar quantitative discipline
• Experience leading cross-functional enterprise level projects and programs
• 8+ years of work experience with 3+ years experience in tech industry and 2+ years management consulting experience preferred
• Ability to understand the organization's strategy and apply it to pricing strategies and execution
• Strong curiosity towards the evolving market and pricing trends, including monetization models
• Experience with advanced pricing analytics applications (PROS, Vendavo, etc.) is desired
• Strong presentation skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong ability to team with others
• High energy, creative, and self-starting; comfortable with ambiguity and with an ability to complete multiple projects on time
• Knowledge and experience with system integrations, data mapping and software development principles
• Expert knowledge of data modeling and Excel
• Experience working with sales representatives and leadership
• Expertise with standard office technology products and apps (e.g., MS Office – PowerPoint, Word, etc…)
• Capable of working in and leading virtual teams
