The Vice President, Head of Systems Engineering - Manufacturing Technology will be a member of the operations executive leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the manufacturing platform. Using an active and practical approach, this role will direct the design, engineering, implementation, system maintenance, operations and technical services areas of manufacturing, to accelerate Shutterfly’s strategic initiatives and growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as a thought leader and strategy driver for the company as a member of the operations executive leadership team
• Build, grow, and recruit a world class team to optimize, enhance, and solve complex system integration problems through creative use of people, process, and technology
• Drive organizational engagement, responsibility and accountability by developing and mentoring effective team leaders both technically and managerially
• Drive execution through deep end to end competencies in architecture, agile development, and operations best practices
• Identify and implement best practices and process enhancements to improve time to market, automation, innovation, features, and developments driven through technology
• Act as a force multiplier for creating our next generation of highly scalable, flexible and cost-effective solutions which foster agility, accelerated growth and timely implementation of critical systems
• Envision, plan and execute development of advanced manufacturing processes and techniques such as automation, systems driven workflows, and robotics
• Establish and execute a 3-year Manufacturing Technology strategy to enhance earnings growth and scalability initiatives through technology
Key Skills and Experience:
• 10+ years of experience working for technology driven manufacturing company required
• Experience with highly variable, personalized, agile, manufacturing
• Executive presence and influence – ability to work with senior leadership and external partners
• Demonstrated leadership and implementation of lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience in building and growing highly competent technology organizations
• Strong technical skills with a background in developing and managing teams involved in building multi-tenant applications, platforms, microservices and distributed system requirements such as availability/uptime, resilience, availability, monitoring, etc.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration, project management, problem-solving, change management and influencing skills
