Director Finance - Network Optimization

Job Summary
This position:
• Performs highly complex and interpretive financial analyses for network optimization projects and mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
• Presents analysis and recommendations to management and project team
• Translates the impact of modeled changes into financial tools and then how that impacts financial statements
• Works across multiple functional areas of responsibility within the business including all areas of Finance (Supply Chain Finance, Brand Finance, Controllers Group)
Position Responsibilities
• Financial analysis and evaluation of Network Optimization Projects, including complete financial cash flow / project return on multiple scenarios, and incorporating all aspects of total delivered cost in the evaluation. Additional analytical evaluations as requested
• Creation and application of the discounted cash flow (DCF) model to compare scenarios
• Creation and interpretation of sensitivity analysis appropriate to each situation
• Owns the DCF, synergy model, and other analytical tools, including which tool to use when
• Strategic decision analysis, including investment analysis
• Determines and vets necessary data to estimate ongoing savings and one-time costs including determining the right questions to ask and the right information to include
• Works collaboratively with Supply Chain Finance team, Network Modeling Team, M&A Team, Brand Finance, Manufacturing Operations, Co-Manufacturing, Warehousing, Engineering, S&OP, Procurement, Transportation, and the Project Manager
• Understands and can assess manufacturing overhead impacts, production throughput and crewing, wage and utility rates, capital investment and avoided capital spend, delivered materials, state and county tax incentives, working capital impacts, T&W impacts and general accounting impacts
• Interfaces with others effectively throughout the organization at all levels from analysts to CEO
• Teaches and trains others on the use of complex financial tools
• Tracks and forecasts project performance and develops/manages reporting to leadership
Position Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
• MBA Preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of financial experience with a strong preference for Supply Chain related experience
• Proven ability to be self-motivated in a fast paced environment
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment
• Strong understanding of financial systems, general accounting concepts, cost accounting concepts
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including leveraging analytics, benchmarking, and insights to generate meaningful strategies and solutions
• Experience effectively working across multiple departments to complete a project or resolve an organizational challenge
• Background and experience in P&L management, along with knowledge of financial and operating systems preferred
• Proven ability to develop strong relationships and partnerships with internal customers, peers and effectively manage those relationships
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including leveraging analytics, benchmarking, and insights to generate meaningful strategies and solutions
• Actively communicate changes to business partners by providing specific, actionable and forward-looking commentary on the various changes as well as guidance on potential risk
• Cross-functional experience is preferred
• Experience with SAP or other software tools preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc).
