Senior Director or Vice President Product Management – IoT Manufacturing Applications
Hitachi Vantara is looking for an analytical, results-driven product leader with strong technical & business aptitude. As a leader in our Product organization, you will lead the team to be the voice of the customer and drive next generation of manufacturing optimization applications leveraging new technologies in the IoT space to industrial customers. You must possess a unique blend of inspirational leadership, business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy empowering a team to spend time in the market and to understand their problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company and manage expectations of the senior leadership team. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define the product portfolio. Your team will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, differentiators and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Be accountable for the full manufacturing applications P&L.
• Build and inspire a team of product leaders and provide mentoring for team growth.
• Manage expectations and reporting accountability to the senior leadership team.
• Manage entire product lifecycle from strategic planning to EOL.
• Define strategy, business plan, and detailed requirements for manufacturing applications.
• Define strategy for building next-gen products using AI and machine learning.
• Influence cross functional teams to deliver market assessment, quantitative and qualitative analysis to drive product pricing, strategy, and roadmap.
• Develop and implement a company-wide business and go-to-market plan with Product Marketing, Sales, and Services.
• Communicate vision and strategy to executives internally and externally.
• Exceptional presentation and communications skills with an ability to work directly with Sales and customer executives to increase product sales for new markets.
• Ability to analyze the financial condition of the business and provide high-quality monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial results for executives.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
• Ideal candidate has an MBA or graduate degree in computer science or engineering and a graduate degree in a technical or business field.
• Motivated self-starter comfortable with the constantly evolving environments experienced in creating new products.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing domain and innovation in industrial areas.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in product management or product marketing, with a minimum of 3 years leading a team of product managers with direct experience in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing optimization, supply chain optimization, production optimization, or operations research
• Knowledge of IoT, AI, machine learning platforms, and applications.
• Exceptional presentation skills.
• Experience with XaaS offering and pricing models a plus
• Direct experience working in or for a manufacturing company a huge plus
• Worldwide travel will be about 35% on average but may be greater in any given month.
