Agglomeration operator
Supervisor’s Title: Shift Supervisor
Department:Production
Location: Gooding Whey Plant
Exempt Status: Hourly
Job Summary
Operates production and packaging equipment for the Agglomeration process, including: UV system, powder transport system, re-wet chamber, timing belt, fluid bed dryer, CIP Systems, lecithin addition, sifter, mill, packager, and other associated systems.
Essential Functions
• Maintains ongoing centerline operation of all equipment as described in Job Summary
• Monitor and make adjustments as needed from HMI (Computer Screens)
• CIP of equipment as needed
• Titrates chemical solutions
• COP of equipment as needed
• Perform minor maintenance items (e;g, change gaskets, check balls, plate inspections, etc.)
• Maintains Production and CIP charts, logs, MES entry
• Inventories and stocks supplies and ingredients as need
• Operates motorized floor lift
• Lock out equipment as necessary
• Attend required training and take proficiency tests
• Samples product, water, and ingredients in-process and final powder
• Changes filter cartridges, baghouse bags, in line filters etc, as needed
• Knows, adheres to and applies GPS principles
• Packages powder and seals bags
• Samples powder as needed
• Checks and records metal detector sensitivity
• Cleans packaging room and assigned areas
• Restocks bag room with supplies (bags, pallets, cardboard and routine maintenance items)
• Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Functions
• Regular and timely attendance required
Qualifications
• Must be able to read numbers and do simple math (addition and subtraction)
• Basic Computer skills
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision
• Must be dependable and trustworthy
• Must be able to work in hot and wet conditions
• Must be forklift certifiable
• Handwriting must be clear and legible
• Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
• Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
• Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
• Ability to read and write instructions in English
• Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
• Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
