As a member of the Therapeutic Area (TA) Senior Leadership Team (SLT), serves as a key partner to the TA Global Head (TAH) to ensure alignment, accountability and focus needed for effective execution of critical TA strategies to deliver growth.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Work with the TAH and GCSOL to ensure alignment of end to end TA strategy with functional operational objectives
• Integrates input from PMO and R&D finance & to track metrics, strategic objectives & outcomes.
• Engages R&D Operations Leaders and their TA SPOCs to ensures strategic and operational alignment and
• Consolidates input from across the TA to ensure that all functional views are represented
• Ensures cross-TA portfolio level information flows back into the TA to promote broader thinking and decision making at the TA level
• Support the TA Leadership in creating an integrated operating model, ensuring functional alignment between the TA and cross-TA supporting elements (GCO, Biotech, Disc Capabilities, other TAs, etc); supports the success of late development projects, approvals and launches Collaborates with other Strategy and Operations Support Leaders to ensure consistency of modus operandi
• Responsible for providing assistance to R&D Strategy and Portfolio Leader for ad hoc requests, monthly pharm R&D reporting, quarterly executive management reviews, etc., as requested
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree is required; Advanced Degree is preferred
• At least 10 years of progressive business experience, with significant exposure to the pharmaceutical R&D environment is required
• Deep knowledge of the drug discovery and development process, the regulatory approval process, and market access dynamics is required
• Experience in building and executing a long-term drug discovery and/or development strategy is required
• Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and in direct line management is required
• Prior experience in the application of decision analytics to portfolio management is preferred
• Experience building or contributing to building a new organization within a research and development enterprise is preferred
