The Director, Global Applied Analytics is an important, integral part of the transformation within J&J Consumer Data Analytics team. The position is responsible for analyzing commercial outcomes and providing insights throughout the product lifecycle across marketing and sales functions (including pricing analytics, market mix modeling, trade promotions, precision marketing, and E-Commerce). This individual will be responsible translating business needs to analytical frameworks and processes. He/she will focus translating complex analytical insights into simple business decisions and outcomes.
This individual will drive business impact by solving unique problems through keen analysis, continuous improvement methodologies, and change management in a cross functional organization. This individual will also define the business opportunity, define the data analytics requirements, share insights and influence decision making. This person will be instrumental in building the analytics framework of the future driven by real time and digital analytics.
Key Responsibilities
• Translating insights from complex analytics to business opportunities & actions
• Lead the Global development in analytics across a variety of functions including marketing mix modelling, customer analytics, E-Commerce analytics, Precision/personalized Marketing, and various other functions
• Articulate analytics proposition to business stakeholders, and collaborate to identify use case opportunities.
• Support analytics design decisions by taking relevant inputs from business team and defining clear plan for analytics team; push analytics teams to confirm assumptions, extract relevant insights and to interpret the models and outputs.
• Lead communication of analytics outputs with executives; Act as bridge between management and analytics specialists; Share insights with business stakeholders and collects inputs.
• Be adept at translating data insights to compelling business stories
• Drive true change management by seamless integration of advanced analytics in current business processes through collaboration with various stakeholders and decision makers
• Work with internal and external partners to build an “analytics based” environment
• Navigate and influence stakeholders and decision makers in a highly matrix & cross functional environment
Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field and 12+ years of relevant work experience in data analytics or related field (Data analyst or Scientist), is required.
• Master’s/M.B.A. in management or STEM related discipline is preferred
• A minimum of 10 years of industry experience solving business problems through application of quantitative analytic approaches is required.
• Experience in driving better ROI of marketing and sales investment is required
• Expertise in using Marketing Mix, MTA (Multi Touch Attribution), Pricing and Promotion, E-Commerce Analytics, and Digital Analytics to drive better business results and ROI is required
• Strong domain knowledge in business is required.
• Strong willingness to learn new hard and soft skills, and develop new professional capability is required.
• Strong communication with experience working with senior management and cross functional teams is required.
• Proven thought leadership on challenging problems with examples of implementing innovative analytic solutions and driving outstanding results is required.
• High-energy and passionate outlook to the role and strong sense of ownership is required.
• This position is located in New Brunswick, NJ and may require up to 30% domestic and/or international travel.
