General Description
Responsible for overall operations related to the Consumer Electronics (CE) and Home Appliance business on the Best Buy and Target accounts. This role will establish a clear vision for all supply chain activities. Span of control to include demand planning, supply commitments, logistics and analytics. Develop product business plans, coordinate product manufacturing and modifications to ensure timely development and delivery of products. May manage Purchase Sales Inventory (PSI) to ensure product development and availability to achieve business plans. Manage a team of 8 focused on Forecasting and overall SCM. Individual will need to recommend and make both strategic and tactical/ operational decisions that are aligned to achieving business objectives. Accountable for medium to longer-term planning.
Provides strategic direction for the Business Planning function. Functions as the focal point to improve communications between headquarters and corresponding SEA team members. Communicate daily with the accounts and SEA organization on production allocation, delivery requirements, and inventory management. Provides sales with daily updates of product delivery schedules and delivery commitments. Coordinates and handles the escalation of critical product availability, launch issues, and sales demands. Reviews and identifies variances in weekly PSI Global product deliveries, as compared to outstanding sales orders and forecasts, in order to plan for future product availability and inventory requirements. Has responsibility for the operational performance of the department. Directs the resolution of complex operational and organizational problems. Manage and develop Supply Chain personnel.
Demonstrate the ability to influence others in acceptance and approval and to provide clarification. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects, issues and activities. The ability to read, interpret and simplify complex information from various documents to create clarity and ease of understanding. Ability to communicate in writing, through email, reports, presentations, or orally, product logistics matters to all audiences. Ability to lead and direct the activities of a team for effective logistics services and achieve deliveries within the KPI target. The ability to clearly define objectives, identify tasks and work assignments, give direction and make decisions based upon applied knowledge of alternatives and work experience. Ability to negotiate on behalf of function to come to agreement by managing communications through discussions and compromise; issues are long-term operational, tactical and strategic in nature.
Necessary Skills / Attributes
• Bachelor's Degree with 12-15+ years of directly related experience is required.
• Prior experience in supply chain management.
• Strong understanding of consumer electronics and Home Appliance products and services preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and create original analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and consensus building skills.
• Prior management experience required.
• Prior experience with SAP or similar business enterprise purchasing, inventory control and/or procurement management system required.
• Must have Microsoft Office Suite of PC software applications experience with Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint preparation skills to effectively communicate to customers.
