Director of Sales - Pro AV
Overview
Field position - Candidates can live in any metroploitan area of the US.
Under the direction of the VP SIICA BSG, the Director of ProAV Sales is responsible for developing the sales organization, sales strategy and customer development framework for the division. The AVP of Sales will lead the sales organization to achieve Sharps Imagining and Information Company of America’s (SIICA) business objectives profitably. Products included in this function are: LCD Monitors, Aquos Boards, and Projectors.
Responsibilities
• Work directly with the SIICA VVP BSG and the Director of SIICA Marketing Programs as well as other group personnel to formulate and implement strategic sales and marketing plans for the division that support corporate goals and improve sales volume, profitability and market share.
• Plan, direct, and control the sales activities of the division to accomplish budgeted financial objectives.
• Establish key account line review processes leading to increased sales.
• Secure new channels through successful sales and marketing strategies.
• Revitalize business by establishing clear go-to-market strategies.
• Develop strategies and tactical plans for launch of new product categories while growing revenue in the current categories by benchmarking competitor’s performance.
• Participate and present sales and marketing programs to major accounts.
• Participate in PSI meetings and report previous month’s sales, inventory, and future needs of all Pro AV and IT customers to the Senior Vice-President.
• Monitor market conditions and develop strategies to benefit from market trends and potential new opportunities.
• Participate in product planning efforts in the United States and coordinate product planning with necessary personnel to meet S. market needs.
• Act as a visionary for the sales group through a deep understanding of emerging consumer trends as well as a strong knowledge of competitors strategic movements.
• Develop merchandising strategies that lead to consistent increases in sales.
• Develop clear channel distribution plans and ensure that products are developed with specific channels while sales potentials are identified.
• Utilize competitive data as well as price trends to specify retail price and margin requirements for all products in the plan. Recommend changes in this structure throughout the fiscal as these parameters evolve.
• Propose advertising plans for specific products with specific goals, target demographics, value propositions and desired end results.
• Help develop creative dealer programs to stimulate sell in and sell through efforts.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate an organization of sales managers and independent distributor and dealer networks.
• Implement the division’s policies and programs in accordance with the corporation’s philosophy.
Qualifications
• A Bachelors degree in management, sales, marketing or business administration, MBA preferred.
• 8 plus years’ experience in sales, marketing and general business administration.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a general management capacity in the appliance, consumer electronics or technology industry.
• A distinguished career of upward progression characterized by broad, diverse management responsibilities including strategic planning, profit and loss management, marketing, sales, operations and finance.
• Ability to develop strategic business projections and inventory needs based on sales history.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate with management at all levels within SEC and Sharp Japan.
• Up to 60% domestic travel required.
