Relationship and Behavior are at the core of the Sonos environment, and understanding both play a huge part in working with our supply base. This Director, Commodity management role, will be responsible for creating, staffing, and leading the commodity management team within the Sourcing organization at Sonos. Having an experienced (Semiconductor and Electronics industry expert) dedicated resource in North America to create, develop and lead our commodity strategy, and build strong supplier relationships is critical to our success.
In this role, it is essential to have the executive relationships with key suppliers in place so we are able to gain access to the best technology at the right cost, and at the right quantity when needed to meet customer demands, launch plans and meet shareholder expectations.

What You’ll Do
• Working in conjunction with the Design and Procurement teams, you will be responsible for developing a Global Procurement Strategy and implementing a supplier development program that has an integrated, long term approach focused on: quality, delivery, and cost, which will deliver Sonos a competitive advantage in the market place.
• You will be responsible for supplier management, competitive bid analysis, price negotiation, quarterly cost reduction, supply chain strategy, supply agreement preparation and negotiation, supplier capacity management.
• You will provide guidance to management of the strategic supplier relationship and will lead quarterly supplier reviews to include feedback on price, quality and delivery, as well as managing vendor-managed inventory programs.
• You will develop the Global Semiconductor pricing forecasts and standard cost setting to include detailed analytics by technology and market.
• You are able to provide guidance on commodity-based cycle time reduction, implement and drive supplier development programs, set commodity base consolidation strategy, and drive supplier alliance programs.
• You will lead and work with teams for supplier qualification and financial Audit review, and also a cross-functional team for continuous quality improvement.
• You will assist the team to develop strategy for contract negotiations and potential strategic material buy-aheads.
• You have a strong understanding of the semiconductor industry, and you continue to review and study these commodities for all major markets.
Skills You’ll Need
• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Engineering. MBA preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent relationship building skills, and you thrive in a role where building and maintaining relationships is key.
• You enjoy taking initiative and leading teams.
• Openness to travel as needed for the role.
• Experience in high volume Semiconductor/Electronics industry.
• Minimum 10+ years’ of work experience.
