Job Scope
The Region VP of Retail (RVP) will provide leadership and direction for all retail selling efforts, including Warehouse and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) for entire business portfolio within a specific geography. The RVP will serve as the business manager responsible for achieving targeted business results by accelerating revenue growth and profitability, building market share, containing operating expenses and driving organizational excellence for the region.
This position is responsible for directing Region Directors of Retail (RDR) and indirectly, Retail Sales Managers (RSM), Retail Merchandising Supervisors (RMS), Retail Customer Manager (RCM), Sales Representatives and Merchandisers.
Primary Responsibilities and time required:
1. Develop and implement business strategies and plans for customers at the retail level through collaborative relationships and connectivity with the customer teams, business unit leaders and senior sales leaders. 30%
2. Communicate retail execution standards and monitor performance to achieve Kraft’s business strategies. Accomplish work through others and ensure key deliverables are done right, on time and reflect high standards. 20%
3. Advance organizational excellence and employee capabilities through training and employee development, building a diverse and inclusive work environment and promoting safe working conditions. 20%
4. Develop and manage region operating budgets. 15%
5. Implement key strategic, retail initiatives designed to generate breakthrough and innovative business solutions. 15%
Qualifications
Functional/Technical Competencies
Sales Process: Aligning with customers by using a strategic and consultative sales process to understand customers’ needs and exceed their expectations while growing each customer’s and Kraft Foods’ business.
Finance and Profitability:Integrating sales skills with knowledge of financial data and profitability requirements to increase the cost-effectiveness and economic performance and the customer’s business.
Industry, Business, & Category Knowledge: Maintaining and applying an understanding of the industry and Kraft Foods product knowledge to create effective customer business solutions and partnerships.
Selling and Inventory Management: Fully using sales and order management systems and technologies that ensure exceptional customer service while proving cost-effective for the customer and Kraft Foods.
Information-Management: Accessing, interpreting and using customer and consumer information to improve fact based selling while working with internal and external customers to achieve desired results.
Promotions/Merchandising: Identifying opportunities to use promotional and merchandising techniques to develop and support business-to-business relationships between the company and customer organizations.
