ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and oversees annual Region marketing plan to support and drive key results; sales and profit growth, Scoop, and E-Commerce growth, and net account growth.
Provides marketing leadership to Area teams for all Marketing plans, activities and programs in the SGI calendar. Counsels and leads Area teams to maximize impact of center-driven Marketing programs, and drives best practices for delivering local programs.
In this role, the individual acts as “captain” on one or more key activities and programs on a company-wide basis. They also play a leadership role in the creation, development, and pilot execution of new programs before implementing nationally.
Leads the development and implementation of Business Solutions Marketing in the region. Directs the US Foods Menu design program and team.
Represents internal communications in the Region by ensuring that consistent, relevant messaging and content reaches key stakeholders in each market, with emphasis on Sales and Supply Chain functions.
Directs the Sales Product Trainer role in the Region, ensuring their priorities and activities align to both the Merchandising and Sales functions.
Oversees Area marketing budgets, in conjunction with Region and Area Merchandising Leadership, to maximize ROI of marketing funds (TM incentives, discounts, etc). Marketing spending and budgeting. This includes incentives, events, sponsorships, promotions and meetings.
Leads the analysis of program and promotional effectiveness, using Center provided analytics or working with Region Category Analyst. Tailors programs to optimize results.
Ensures company brand standards are met for all customer-facing activities, products and collateral in the region.
Use and encourage the use of approved social media channels and collaboration tools (Yammer) by all personnel within the Region.
Directs Region Marketing Specialist and dotted line supervision of the Area Marketing Managers.
Qualifications
Education/Training: Four year college degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field, or equivalent field experience. MBA preferred.
Related Experience:Minimum 10 years marketing or related experience.
Experience within food service or food manufacturing companies desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with both internal and external business partners required. Strong leadership and influencing skills needed. Ability to effectively work with various content management and online marketing systems. The candidate must be self-directed and highly motivated. Strong business acumen and interpersonal skill required. Must be able to clearly and concisely articulate complex business and technical concepts and issues to management in an effective manner. Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Outlook; must also be proficient in InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Social Media applications and possess advanced internet aptitude. Prior experience managing others required.
Travel:This position requires up to 75% travel in the West Region.
