Job Description
Position will have general responsibility and accountability as per Part A for management and improvement of North America domestic and cross border Mexico and Canada transportation.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities in NA:
• Set general domestic transport policy
• Manage carrier solicitation, evaluation, and on boarding
• Manage truck capacity is support of On Time & Complete (OTC) needs
• Negotiate rates and deploy freight cost savings programs
• Supervise US/Canada Freight Audit Process & Payment service (CASS)
• Support all freight related P&L and reporting activities across SAP, finance, CASS, and accounting
• Support new business development business cases (freight, capacity, transit times, vendor compliance, freight terms, etc.)
• Supervise use/performance of all required SOP documents (Carrier Billing Guide, FBA, Payment Failure Resolution Escalation, Freight Claims, intra NAFTA expedited use, Returns, other)
• FAO and freight cost budgets
• Evaluate and recommend transport related technologies
• Transport Quality (PPM, OTC, product condition, returns, scorecards)
Client Interfaces: Position will be required to directly and indirectly interface both internal and external functional services: manufacturing, logistics, sales/marketing, customer service, finance, IT, purchasing, FAPP (CASS), IT service providers, and carriers.
Qualifications
Work Experience:
• 10-20 years in North America and/or global manufacturing and distribution environment in logistics and transportation.
Education and Professional Requirements:
• Four-year degree in business, finance, or management with some preferred concentration in transportation and/or logistics
• Industrial transportation management specialty certification (18 credits or more)
• Any industry discipline certification(s) such as STB license, ASTL, CCPAC, NPTC, APICS, others
