The Sales Director, Ecommerce is a key member of the Sales Leadership Team at Beiersdorf and shares responsibility for defining the sales strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth agenda and executing effective strategies to facilitate profitable sales growth across the Ecommerce Channel. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial drive and passion. Thought leadership and an ability to be data driven will be keys to success. He/she is responsible for developing and retaining sales talent, as well as developing strong cross-functional relationships with Shopper and Customer Marketing, Brand Marketing, Controlling, Finance, and Supply Chain. The individual must have a demonstrated record of successfully influencing key stakeholders and thinking outside the box.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver the US sales growth strategy as a key member of the Sales Leadership Team.
• Create, define and execute ecommerce strategy.
• Set ecommerce channel goals and metrics.
• Lead and oversee channel activities in collaboration with Team Leader and account managers.
• Successfully manage, coach, and develop Team Leader(s) to effectively deliver targets.
• Make strategic decisions for ecommerce channel business and find the right balance to financial performance, efficiency and growth.
• Build and leverage customer intelligence.
• Make recommendations internally on how to better win with ecommerce.
• Successfully negotiate terms with customers.
• Partnership with Finance to ensure ecommerce account health.
• Responsible for ecommerce channel P&L.
• Develop and execute B2C ecommerce strategy.
• Drive efficiencies and improvements to increase profitability.
• Ensure effective implementation of sales initiatives and programs through fact-based quality input into S&OP.
• Manage senior level relationships with our ecommerce customers.
• Effectively manage key growth levers such as trade terms and conditions, promotions and shopper marketing programs.
• Champion cross collaboration with all other departments or key stakeholders such as: brand marketing, sales controlling, Demand planning, customer service and replenishment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• MBA preferred
• 8-10 years in sales, with 3-5 years in leadership positions, including ecommerce experience.
• Excellent communication skills, persuading and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a fast moving consumer packaged goods environment preferred.
• Extensive knowledge in ecommerce best practices.
• Proven track record of producing sustainable growth within the channel.
• Strong leadership skills, particularly adaptability, agility and team development.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions.
• Experience with working in a mature S&OP environment
• Strong strategic and analytical/critical thinking skills.
• Working knowledge of merchandising, pricing and promotions principles and strategies.
• Must be results-oriented, organized, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate others.
• Nielsen and/or IRI, SAP experience extremely helpful.
• Change agent.

• Has experienced and understands the benefit of working cross-functionally as a team.
• Passionate about people and outcomes, not titles and hierarchy
• Travel required (approximately 30-50%) to customers, customer events, store visits, industry events, etc.
