BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:
This is a high visibility and high impact global role that works closely with FLAG Product and Brand Marketing, Sales, and Information Systems teams to develop strategy and implement integrated digital marketing and eCommerce programs that acquire and engage customers and move them through the buying cycle. Responsible for developing, managing, and leading the FLAG digital marketing and eCommerce team.
The Director maintains a focus on driving sales through performance optimization of all channels -- SEO, SEM, mobile, display and affiliate marketing. This position also manages eCommerce analytics to ensure actions being taken help drive overall sales and leverage new ideas and innovation to drive competitive advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Leverages expertise in digital marketing and ecommerce to align the cross-functional organization on essential strategies, infrastructure requirements, and marketing programs.
• Manages and develops the global digital marketing team. Defines required competencies and structure.
• Keeps current with best practices in digital marketing and eCommerce, web design/development, and the specific digital behaviors and attitudes of our target customers.
• Influences (partnering with IS) infrastructure and platform choices that can be leveraged across the enterprise, in partnership with the Information Systems team.
• Supports the annual and ongoing objective and budget setting processes with informed, timely input, and results reporting.
• In collaboration with region Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Information Systems lead(s) – develop and lead strategy, planning, and implementation of FLAG eCommerce roadmap
◦ Indirect eCommerce (channel partner enablement) to include online marketplaces.
◦ Direct eCommerce for targeted regions/countries, customer segments, and categories
• Understands and leverages eCommerce experience, insights, and solutions deployed within existing Blount teams.
• With overall responsibility for OregonProducts.com website, tracks, analyzes and reports analytics on the site and other partner sites to optimize and continuously improve user experience(s) and overall ecommerce effectiveness; ensures timely and accurate updating of content.
• Collaborates and consults with region marketing and sales management in the development, implementation, and measurement of integrated marketing programs (e.g. email marketing, SEM, content marketing, social marketing, PPC/digital advertising) designed to engage and convert customers through site visits, brand impressions, and content consumption.
• Leads the design/development program for unified, responsive, branded FLAG global website experiences – driven by the customer buying process / “journey” helping to set the organization priorities.
• Utilizes competitive benchmarking, VOC sources, and industry trends to define objectives and goals.
• Defines and develops agency and other partner relationships essential to achieving objectives and meeting program goals, ensuring adherence to documented SOW deliverables within project cost objectives supported where appropriate by Blount procurement).
• Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal documents
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, economics, computer science or other related field.
• MBA and/or related advanced degree or professional training preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 8 or more years of related experience in digital marketing and/or eCommerce management and application, demonstrated by new website launch and digital marketing (or ecommerce) programs that drove sales.
• Experience in building, developing, and leading teams.
• Working knowledge of current web technologies and platforms (e.g. responsive web development environments, CMS/DAM and master data solutions, mobile solutions).
• Strong foundation in the role of digital and traditional marketing in achieving business goals.
• Ability to define appropriate KPIs for digital marketing and to apply methodologies for measuring and improving execution.
• Proven ability to effectively contract and work with agency partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), online analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, etc.), and data management software (SAP preferred).
• Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed.
• Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner, and set a good example of personal integrity.
• Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms (up, down, and across the organization).
• Ability to effectively manage multiple work-streams and projects.
• Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes.
• Take initiative, seek and act on opportunities to improve organization performance.
• Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals.
• Available to work on site as required by job; eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration.
