Director, Office of Consumer Protection Compliance - US

We’re seeking a Director, Office of Consumer Protection Compliance - US based in our Englewood, Colorado office (global headquarters). In this role, you will be responsible to provide effective consumer protection leadership to ensure consumers are treated fairly in accordance with US consumer protection laws.

• Responsible for driving compliance with Dodd-Frank consumer protection requirements
• Design and implement operating model for management of consumer compliance
• Assess the effectiveness of consumer protection business controls
• Support the preparation of annual US Consumer Protection Risk Assessment
• Regulatory sign off and approval of relevant policies and procedures
• Oversight of agents, systems and controls to comply with regulation
• Submissions to regulatory authorities
• Assessment of new consumer protection regulations, in consultation with Legal
• Lead Consumer Protection Governance Program
• Approval of relevant training materials
• Provide technical regulatory advice to the business
• Develop and manage internal relationships that foster strategies and tactics
• Direct one or more functions at the business unit or corporate level
• Conduct new product reviews for consumer protection regulatory compliance
• Oversee service provider consumer protection due diligence reviews
• Develop strategies & tactics to help protect consumers
• Manage Dodd-Frank Mystery Shopper Program
What you will need to succeed:
• 4-7 years' solid experience managing a Dodd-Frank, Remittance Rule Compliance program in a financial institution or experience working for the CFPB
• Minimum of 6 years of experience providing leadership, coaching and development to individuals and teams
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in complex consumer financial services/payment services organizations with multiple financial products, or regulatory agency specializing in payment services compliance issues
• Substantive understanding of consumer protection regulations within the banking/financial services industry
• Strong analytical and investigative skills
• Decisive, bottom-line and action-oriented
• An effective communicator in groups and one-on-one, who can instill pride and passion both internally and externally

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Law degree a plus
• A strong people manager - ability to put strategy into action
• A motivator and a coach who can persuade others to adapt
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Prior financial regulatory experience
