To plan, design, develop, implement, and maintain large scale, highly integrated global business application processing mainframes, imaging, workflow, web, and supporting database protocols to achieve efficient and highly integrated systems. Develops global strategic and tactical plans for implementing enterprise information business application systems in support of both, distributed and centralized business operations to achieve more cost effective enterprise-wide it solutions. This position will report to the Vice President, Information Technology.
• Selects, trains, and develops a subordinate staff of professional employees. Administers an annual operating budget and a capital budget.
• Establishes the vision and mission for global it business application systems and operational plans, ensuring they meet the current and future information and technology needs for FedEx Trade Networks.
• Ensures the alignment and integration of it with the overall vision, mission, and values of FedEx Corporation. Develops and maintains business system architecture; defines standards and protocols for data exchange, business applications software, database protocols and interconnections of FedEx Trade Networks business application systems.
• Provides leadership and directions for the integration of business systems and information processing resources for the purpose of designing and implementing efficient online automated systems for internal and external customer support.
• Provides direction, advice, and approves the evaluation, selection, acquisition, implementation and maintenance of major business application systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.
• Promotes and oversees relationships between resources and external entities (e.g. Government, vendors, researchers, and other FedEx operating companies).
• Develops and enforces policy and procedures to ensure the protection of enterprise it assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by the enterprise.
• Provides a world-class working environment that enables it to attract and retain industry-leading talent. Provides leadership and direction promoting the people-service profit philosophy as well as encouraging the growth and development of team members.
• Negotiates it service level agreements with user organizations and monitors it application systems performance to assure service levels are being met.
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in computer science, business administration or other quantitative discipline. Significant experience in software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, and evaluation, including successful management experience in planning and administration and experience in managing functions and departments dealing with system design& development processes, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies. Knowledge of applicable external regulatory requirements (19 CFR, and U.S.C.) and their application to the IT area. Extensive experience in us customs brokerage and international transportation is preferred. Ten (10) years work experience required. Five (5) to six (6) years management experience preferred.
