Description
This position is responsible for leading the development and execution of quality management systems, process control, and providing leadership to teams through all aspects of the continuous improvement process to improve quality and improve customer experience. The qualified candidate will lead a multi-site team of Quality personnel responsible for all Quality activities. They will lead a team of Quality Control Managers, Quality Engineers, and Quality Control Coordinators to support continuous improvement processes, best practice adoption, standardization, and deployment of the quality management system.
Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for the development, implementation, management and maintenance of the quality system
• Successful implementation of company-wide operational procedures to support quality system requirements, and world class execution
• Analyzes current processes, develops tactics, metrics and scorecards, and institutes data-driven process improvements which will link Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Customer Service objectives and goals worldwide
• Improve quality performance while providing coaching and guidance in the implementation of processes and tools by working with Manufacturing, Lab Engineering, Customer Care, and Supply Chain
• Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing organization in all activities and initiatives concerning Supplier Quality Assurance
• Provide group level oversight and leadership to sites regarding Quality functions. May act as primary contact regarding any customer quality concerns.
• Responsible for organizing and directing all internal and external quality system audits.
• Provide expertise to ensure quality standards are recognized, understood and maintained across the company.
• Disseminate quality concepts throughout the organization, contributing to the development of a culture committed Quality and organization objectives.
• Responsible for QA organization personnel management functions including performance appraisals, setting and monitoring performance and development goals, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Set a personal example of the highest ethical conduct. Implement and embrace Leadership imperatives.
• Develop and promote a Quality vision in partnership with Manufacturing & Operations Leadership
• Employ effective interpersonal and communication skills that encourage and guide employees and advance teamwork.
• Support design, fabrication, assembly, integration, and test of new products and systems by performing process oversight, acceptance, and discrepancy reporting to assure total product integrity.
• Provide a daily/weekly/monthly assessment of sites performance based on quality metrics and trends with recommendations for corrective actions or improvements.

• Lead “cost of poor quality” initiatives to drive improvement in overall product line(s), factories and supplier management performance
• Embed Quality work products across the product lifecycle to preempt risk and drive an attention-to-detail and prevention-oriented culture.
Required Experience/Skills
• 6+ years Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment; international experience a plus
• 5+ years of prior leadership and Management experience
• 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement methodologies
• BS in Engineering or related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus
• Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert
• Experience in monitoring and maintaining budget allocations
• Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills at all organizational and senior customer levels
• Attention to detail, with strong task closure and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies and demonstrated experience in the development and evaluation of effective preventive/corrective action plans
• Ability to proactively communicate and motivate (including strong presentation and customer interface skills); including active listening and ability to mentor and develop employee skills
• Must have demonstrated track record successfully managing in a matrix organization
• Excellent project management skills and experience
• Demonstrated experience in implemented quality practices that have led to improved performance
• High comfort level and proficiency with Total Quality Management, ISO, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools
• Good working knowledge of MiniTab, Visio, Power Point, Excel, Word, MS Project
• Experience engaging, collaborating, influencing and communicating with executive level leadership.
• Ability to manage and lead at a senior management level.
• Ability to create / execute strategic plans and innovative ideas to meet business objectives.
• Ability to produce under stressful conditions with demanding stakeholders, customers and schedules.
