Job Title: Filling Machine Operator
Shift: 3rd Shift

Reports To: Business Unit Leader, Filling
General Summary
Operates automated equipment to fill 160F+ soup into consumer ready packaging, ensuring that all safety and quality parameters are met by performing the following duties.
Principal Accountabilities (list in order of importance and indicate percentage of time spent on each)
1. Follow all established safety protocols (LOTO, Work at Height, etc.) and wear required PPE
2. Starts and prepares the filler machine. Observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.
3. Performs minor machine adjustments or repairs such as releveling the vision system
4. Performs operations of machines, including troubleshooting, cleanup, setup, quality control, and waste control
5. Performs all required quality/ food safety checks, for example temperature checks, seal checks, weight checks, code checks, etc.
6. Inspects filled containers and bags to ensure product is filled to specifications to ensure food safety and other quality aspects
7. Replenishes filling supplies such as cups and film.
8. Follows department escalation to ensure all major incidents are dealt with promptly
9. Ensures that all data collection is captured accurately, for example, accurately capture weight and waste tracking.
10. Performs all quality and food safety checks, such as data sheet checks and ensures completion of data sheet
11. Organizes and maintains all tools and scales
12. Works with team towards meeting filling metrics to drive goals and sustainability of the teams, this to be done through resource alignment, planning ahead for changeovers, looking ahead to optimize the schedule, empowering the teams to drive communication and tight tracking of loss through each process order
13. Performs all other duties as assigned
Required Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Level 3 in Reading for Information

All the needed information is presented in a logical order and there is no extra information given. Solve problems that require a single type of mathematical operation (add, subtract and divide). Change numbers from one form to another (ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages). Be able to covert simple money and time units.
Level 3 in Locating Information
ACTs definition of Level 3 Locating Information: Ability to find and insert several pieces of information within workplace graphics such as charts, graphs, tables, forms, flowcharts, diagrams, floor plans, maps, and instrument gauges. Example of this is to navigate computer interfaces to equipment and machinery.
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends
• Ability to learn system logic and operate HMI/control panels to teach products and fine tune equipment for minor and major adjustments
• Self-directed, able to keep oneself busy and flow to the work
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and internal/external customers
Physical Demands:
The job requires regularly standing; walking; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, bend, twist, or crawling and talking or hearing. Must regularly lift or carry small to medium sized items ranging from 5 – 36 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to wet conditions; moving mechanical parts and cold temperatures. Some exposed to chemicals when performing sanitarian/ clean up duties. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
