The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity for you to take an active leadership role in delivering our most complex digital/commerce initiatives. As the Director, Program Management - Commerce Delivery, you will be responsible for delivering our growing and strategic technology portfolio and in shaping our project and delivery frameworks.
Role is responsible for establishing and executing all aspects of the program management function for large scale, complex digital and global eCommerce programs and/or a portfolio of medium-large sized projects that are delivered across the global landscape.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Program Leadership, Planning & Administration, Execution Integration, and Financial Management. This position must have a mastery of both program and project management methods, and proven prior experience working on a variety of digital programs/projects to succeed within the high paced environment of our rapidly growing company.
A successful leader in this role will demonstrate the ability to manage large scale program investments, multiple project teams, multiple technology disciplines, global or multiple region geographic delivery, geographically disbursed delivery teams, with the highest levels of technical complexity.
Responsibilities
• Day to day program management of our most critical projects to achieve defined business results
• Actively drive and manage the delivery for our critical commerce portfolio, partnering closely with Technology and Business teams
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their portfolio and goals and influence and evolve our approaches to achieve the right amount of oversight, process and transparency
• Achieve operational excellence in delivery and increased early warning of issues and challenges, to allow enough time to solve or mitigate. Resolve escalated issues and escalate appropriately. Be the respected, neutral party.
• Coordinate process, technology, and people aspects across all initiatives
• Coach Initiative Leads in applying appropriate work approaches and decision rationale in competing program deliverables
• Ensure we effectively deliver our enterprise roadmap, managing change effectively, understanding the value of the projects and ensuring the appropriate level of transparency via KPI reporting and other communications
• Identify key deliverables; review and approve deliverables as assigned. Challenge program scope and quality of deliverables.
• Own and present the governance deliverables to Project Leadership, Operating Committee and Steering Committee.
• Maintain the strategic plan and high-level program scope based on overall strategy
• Reduce overhead and improve accuracy by contributing to the annual strategy planning, budget planning and the road-mapping processes
Qualifications
• 10+ years of program leadership experience within a technology environment; ecommerce or direct selling experience is a plus preferably in Retail/Consumer Goods
• Experience in working with globally distributed teams of both internal and 3rd party vendors
• Demonstrated Agile experience a must; experience extending or modifying methodologies is a plus
• Proven experience managing through organizational growth and change
• Desire to be and set the example within organization as to what effective Program Management looks like
• Proven success in presenting to, and commanding respect from, executive leadership
• Ability and willingness to move seamlessly between strategic and tactical, with natural inclination to detail
• Experience managing large budgets ($10M+)
• Minimum 5-7 years managing people
• Ability to source and manage 3rd party vendors to support program needs (as required)
• Experience with PPM tools and demand planning or resource management (such as Jira)
• Proven ability to influence key decision makers
• Strong leadership, negotiation and execution skills with the ability to drive results, deliver and excel, and own it when you don't
• Program experience with SAP ERP and Commerce (hybris) solution a plus
• Experience managing full life-cycle commerce deployments that cover all aspects of delivery (Creative, UI/UX, Business Functional, Technology Architecture, Development, Testing/QA and Deployment)
