Directs planning, volume, profits, implementation, and controlling of K&B Latin America (includes Central and South America, and the Caribbean) to obtain maximum sales, net income, market penetration, and distributor relations, in accordance with annual and long-term sales and marketing plans and programs. Participates in the division's development of annual and long-term sales plans and programs. Responsible for developing a cooperative relationship between Latin America and other divisions within the KBA organization. Responsible for directing all marketing and advertising efforts in the region, and for ensuring the appropriate supply chain parameters exist to create the most effective way of shipping products into the region.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Directs assigned regions in meeting annual and long-term objectives by establishing objectives in terms of profits, volume, market penetration, and cost control. Monitors performance and takes necessary corrective action.
• On a continuous basis, provides direction to Latin America on a variety of sales activities, creating and monitoring policies, and objectives for the team. Directs selling efforts of personnel located in the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
• Directs all marketing initiatives for the region including channel marketing (showroom programs, promotions, and training), and product marketing (product offering, pricing, and positioning).
• Directs all advertising efforts for the region including the creation of media schedules, creative, and budgets.
• Responsible for relating to Marketing personnel and other divisions field information pertaining to market intelligence, prices, product, performance, marketing legislation or trade organization agreements, market penetration, competitor intelligence, and other market needs.
• Develops and implements Sales and Marketing operating policy to provide parameters within which regions may operate.
• Coordinates a variety of activities, which may be requested by other divisions or group personnel, to provide timely information such as demand forecasts, advertising effectiveness, market penetration, prices, distribution, product acceptance and performance, technical product requirements, and product codes and standards for each country in the region.
• Develops objectives, policies, and controls and directs the investigation and recruitment of distributors/retail accounts. Monitors account performance and recommends action where accounts are not performing or where they are excelling.
• Provides liaison between regions and accounts and Kohler Co. on matters of mutual concern. Makes field trips to assist with resolution of procedural, sales, service or account problems.
• Assures regions, marketing division, and group personnel service customer complaints or inquiries on a timely basis to provide complete customer and/or consumer satisfaction. Prepare and submit recommendations relative to changes in existing sales policies, and procedures, to affect improvements to increase profit, volume, and customer service.
• Responsible for organizing the Latin America organization so as to achieve objectives, and assuring an adequate trained work force is maintained.
• Responsible for promoting and maintaining the highest possible relationship with accounts to assure satisfaction and improve the image of Kohler.
• Participates in the development of training programs for distributor personnel and sales and marketing personnel and in ascertaining the need and frequency of them.
• Participates in training programs.
• Travels extensively throughout the region as appropriate. A minimum 40% of the time in travel is expected.
• Strategic Planning - Develop sales, marketing and other material management objectives, strategies, projections, and action plans to support and achieve the group's profitability, growth, competitive position goals, and return on investment objectives.
• Financial Planning -Develop annual expense budgets, capital budgets, inventory levels and turnover projections, purchase requirements, and other financial plans as required for KBA.
Skills/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA with a BA in a business discipline preferred.
• 10 years of sales/marketing leadership experience with a consistent track record of results.
• Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese desired.
