Overall Job Summary
Provides direction and management of the Pet Loss business segment at the regional and local levels.
This position is responsible for business development and operational management, working to optimize operations to maximize quality of service provided, increasing product sales and share position while promoting the company to meet strategic business objectives. Position supports local managers in executing the same objectives at the local and facility level. This person must be familiar with a wide variety of customer concepts, practices and procedures, relying on business experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of latitude and creativity is provided with authorization to make day to day tactical business decisions with customers.
Job Responsibilities
• Directs Regional Operations and Sales activities for pet cremation services, supplies, and memorial products.
• Maintains and expands current client base with increased B2B and B2C account revenue, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Interfaces with Matthews Business and Functional Support Managers, Teams, customers and vendors to fully understand and support market requirements.
• Ensures Operations Teams, Business Development Teams and Customer Service Teams have the information and tools necessary for success.
• Evaluates competitive standing in Region and develops necessary strategic programs to provide competitive products and services leading to increased sales growth and profit margins.
• Develops the annual goals and objectives for all management personnel under responsibility.
◦ Participates in the development of Division pricing decisions, sales objectives, multi-year strategic and business plans.
◦ Participates in the development and execution of training programs in SOPs, customer service, product and service offerings both in-house and external.
◦ Participates in conventions and trade shows, training programs and Pet Loss presentations as required.
◦ Reviews monthly overall performance of each supervised staff member and guide as needed.
◦ Travels with and without other staff as needed to maintain operations and develop business opportunities.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
• 8+ years progressive managerial/supervisory experience required.
• Regular travel is required.
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with senior management, peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
