Job Description
Overview
The Director, Sales -- Walmart oversees an assigned sales team in the implementation and execution of sales, distribution, marketing strategies, and tactics against corporate goals and objectives for Walmart. The incumbent strives to enhance Hain Celestial's success in multiple categories to achieve business results through influence, executive presence, and penetration with the retailer's merchandising, management, and senior management team(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsibility for delivering on volume, distribution and profit goals and objectives.
• Establishing/Maintaining a productive business and strategic relationship with the merchandising and management teams.
• Inform and influence innovation and activation timelines.
• Establish sales team stretch objectives and manage personnel workload appropriately.
• Direct and leverage strategic Joint Business Planning process with retail sales planning, category management departments, insights teams, and the retailer.
• Implement HCG Corporate Sales and Marketing objectives.
• Effectively manage trade forecasts/budgets and revenue forecasts/budgets.
• Provide management direction with pillar driven initiatives and ongoing forecasts.
• Coordinate Supply Chain alignment and successful partnership projects.
• Perform business and performance reviews with retailer and HCG stakeholders.
• Provides leadership, guidance and direction to all members of assigned sales team.
• Assists with other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, marketing or equivalent
• Minimum ten years' experience in a Sales capacity within a Consumer Packaged Goods Company
• Oversees all NAM team members assigned to retail account
• Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the HCG and the retailer organization.
• Leverages thought leadership and insights to develop, focus and deliver activation priorities with the customer/shopper.
• Ability to develop and implement joint business plans that create mutual value and delivers mutual growth.
• Expert knowledge of internal computer sales systems utilized by assigned retailer.
• Ability to interpret account specific data -- and translate into relevant category review presentations, as well as other sales related information/material.
• Ability and desire to travel occasionally.
• Working knowledge and understanding of retailer strategy, internal structure, and Nielsen/IRI syndicated data.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
• Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
• Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
• Knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
• Ability to empower, motivate and inspire the team.
• Acts with a bias towards action.
• Ability to forecast volume, revenue, and trade spending with accuracy.
• Previous supervisory experience a plus.
• Ability to lead change and execute on strategic decisions.
• Conflict resolution skills.
