About the role:
The primary focus of the Director Program & Infrastructure Management is to ensure the smooth launch or deletion of new products into the market. This leader is responsible for streamlining the organization and improving the processes for new product introduction and deletions. This role works closely with marketing, sales, plant personnel, the production planners, and procurement. Works cross-functionally to develop project timelines, establish priorities, and key performance targets. Accountable for establishing management routines, new tools, and standard processes to ensure delivery of key functional performance targets. This role is also accountable for long term infrastructure & network planning as well as Master Data Management within the total supply function.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
• Develops, owns and leads the monthly S&OP process to include standard metrics, documented decisions/assumptions and reconciliation to the financial/business plan with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply
• Develops strong working relationships with all key functions achieving consensus on the forecast and achieving forecast accuracy objectives
• Provides periodic plan reviews for executive management and operating teams
• Sets the strategic direction for Demand Planning applications and modeling for North America
• Manages staff to produce demand plans for all products at the sku, customer, weekly distribution center level for the US. Collaboration in finalizing the demand plan with Marketing and Sales is essential.
• Responsible for establishing and delivering results for key performance indicators (KPI’s), such as forecast accuracy, bias, and fill rates to measure progress and drive continuous improvement
• Works with Marketing and Sales to agree on demand plan for new products as well as for those products being phased out
• Ensure the strategies are supportive of RB’s and Customer alignment strategies, while also achieving business unit performance metrics in product quality, service, and operating efficiencies.
• Responds to changes in the demand forecast when unexpected, significant shifts in demand is experienced
• Contributes information and actions to aid in the allocation of product when demand exceeds supply
• Collaborates with IS to improve Demand Planning tools and integration with legacy systems
• Develops and improves the demand planning capabilities of the team through technical and interpersonal skills training
Program & Infrastructure Management
• Provides leadership and strategic direction Lifecycle management of products
• Represents the organization internally and externally at the at the leadership level.
• Ownership for ensuring organization is optimized and lean
• Develops a long-term infrastructure and network plan with clear shift structures for each plant each year
• Drives employee engagement and organizational health
• Develops, implements and maintains standard processes for new product introduction as well as product deletions
• Responsible for delivering material and productivity savings commitment
• Translates Company business strategy into operational goals with visible metrics
• Coaching, motivating, developing talent
• Improve effectiveness of the organization through technology enablement, process improvement, personnel reorganization, and standardization.
• Capability leader on tools for tools such as SAP MRP and SAP PPDS
• Foster a culture of Operational Excellence (OE) by building capability, setting clear expectations and reinforcing OE principles.
• Enhance intellectual capital through training, rewarding, and retaining the best of the best
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related area
• Strong background in production aspects of supply chain field operations and interactions with planning
• A minimum of 5 years of successful experience in Supply Chain planning/forecasting in a high volume, multi-site CPG environment. Proven leader of process improvement and tactical execution of business strategies
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in utilizing or executing Infrastructure and Network modeling software, Material Requirements Planning and working with SAP master data.\
• Experience in a fast-moving CPG environment preferred
• Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
• Proven experience leading or supporting major change initiatives involving evaluation of systems, process, structures and people
• Experienced in fully utilizing integrated demand and inventory management systems (APO, Demantra, Manugistics, etc.)
• APICS CPIM and CSCP certifications are a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent business acumen, judgment and interpersonal/communication skills
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and analysis in developing new strategies and initiatives
• Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization, while building relationships across global teams
