We’re seeking a Director, Operations, based in our Englewood, Colorado office (global headquarters). The Director of Process and Change Management is responsible for leading and building skill for improvement activities within Global Operations. As well as designing and maintaining Global Operations processes. They accomplish this by focusing on three broad areas:
1. Improving the way, we do the work – Use and teach leaders how to use consistent methodologies to improve and design the way we do the work.
2. Defining what’s important and how we’re doing – Help leaders define what is important to customers, employees, agents and partners. Using metrics, data and judgment to help them assess performance and identify potential priorities.
3. Coaching Process Leadership – Coach leaders and leadership teams on how the WU Way can be used to drive great operating reviews, meetings and one on ones.

• Work effectively across global operations teams to communicate and educate employees about improvement philosophies and methods, while providing expert guidance in applying improvement principles
• Work closely with and/or lead other corporate initiatives geared toward systems improvement.
• Establish and sponsor key change management programs within the Global Operations Organization
• Some programs will be within one function and some programs will be end to end and across multiple functions
What you will need to succeed:
• 5-10 years experience leading business transformations, or working in process improvement and/or change management roles
• Exposure to various problem-solving methodologies; experience with both small and large-scale business transformation, organizational transformation and process design
• 5+ years experience in managing diverse business or functional staff in a matrixed, highly dynamic environment
• Demonstrated experience making data-based decisions
• Ability to solve for multiple stakeholders
• Balancing long and short-term outcomes
• Extensive experience in building and coaching leadership teams to build Process Management Systems that drive continuous improvements daily
• Coaching senior business executives and cross functional team leaders
• Facilitating discussions, meetings and workshop settings
• Communicating and influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach senior business leaders with difficult messages and defend position
• Financial acumen and ability to develop compelling business cases – tie operating metrics
• Ability to rapidly assess and understand the business objectives and value of a project
• Experience delivering training in front of leadership audiences
What will make you stand out:
• BS Degree in engineering or sciences
• Master’s in engineering or MBA very desirable
• Strong drive for results
• Strong analytical mindset, able to understand how systems work, and tell compelling stories using data
• Strong positive attitude and ability to handle complex, continuously changing environment and team dynamics
• Certifications in process improvement methodologies a plus
• Formal training in executive one on one coaching
• Experience with formal methodologies like Six Sigma, LEAN, or TQM is a plus
