Position Summary
Reporting to the SVP, Communications and Sustainability, the Director of Internal Communications will lead the development of dynamic, innovative employee communications programming to insure an understanding of Pernod Ricard USA, its brands, its strategy and its culture among all employees. She/he will manage and implement strategy, planning, logistics, and messaging for all Communications as well as help serve as a key liaison and dynamic resource for various departments and global teams within the company.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify what is needed to raise the overall excellence of internal communications relating to PRUSA, brands/brand companies and PRUSA senior management
• Lead innovation & management of best-in-class internal communications systems and tools
• Lead team managing current systems (MyPortal, Insiders, COMviviality, etc.)
• Identify and implement innovative employee communications technologies / platforms (i.e. video, live streams, collaboration tools)
• Have a strong eye on the future and make recommendations for improvements of internal communications tools based on insights, best practices and business objectives including simplicity, openness and collaboration
• Provide recommendations on optimization based on advanced analytics
• Advise senior, functional, and global teams on US internal communication needs, developing communications plans, recommendations and coaching while building strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Lead the organization of key internal communications events: town halls, executive events, national conferences, happy hours and other special events
• Act as Communication Lead on the company Culture initiative, creating innovative programming aimed at embedding our company strategy
• Report on progress against business plans and objectives, reviewing progress with SVP, Communications communicating achievements and emerging issues as well as developing metrics for evaluating program effectiveness.
• As part of the Communications & Sustainability team, collaborate on other corporate communications projects (e.g., external publicity, events, sustainability & responsibility, etc.) as needed.
• Developing/coaching the Manager, Internal Communications as well Communication Coordinator - empowering, delegating, and defining performance evaluation & development plans
Skills Necessary for Superior Performance
• Ability to handle/manage multiple projects simultaneously with high degree of quality, speed & flexibility for change, remaining calm under pressure
• Excellent planning, organization, and personal time management skills.
• Ability to understand and communicate corporate and brand strategies.
• Strong writing abilities across all media platforms and excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong communicator capable of developing and leading communications efforts across multiple platforms.
• Strong experience in development and management of internal, digital collaboration tools
• Attention to detail, digital-savviness and creativity are a must.
• Has an eye for design and portraying premium image visually.
• Proven success developing relationships and collaborating in a business partner capacity with internal stakeholders.
• Team player able to collaborate effectively with internal & external people/teams.
• Highly Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge in commonly used communication platforms.
• A creative problem solver focused on continuous improvement with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• A positive and enthusiastic team player who enjoys being convivial and meeting new people!
Working conditions
Work is performed in an agile work environment focused on performance and results. Expected to work evenings and weekends as required. Normal visual acuity required for correspondence and computer terminal usage. Occasional travel is required.
Education
• Required: Bachelor’s Degree
• Preferred: Graduate Degree in business, communications, journalism or related field
Experience
• Required: 7-10 years experience in strategic internal communications
