The Role
Hitachi Vantara is looking for an outstanding Director to lead the Strategic Pricing Analytics team within the Global Pricing organization. You will join a fast-paced organization driving rapid change to design, implement and maintain analytical models and systems that identify and deliver optimal pricing and discounting decisions for our entire portfolio of business around the world.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Pricing, you will be able to apply your knowledge of statistical modeling and data analytics to solve impactful business problems and promote data-driven decision making across the enterprise. Insights from your analyses – delivered via tools and systems – will drive pricing recommendations across all elements of our offering portfolio, including products and services, as well as all monetization models, including XaaS(upfront purchase, lease, subscription, consumption, risk models, etc.).
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience, competence and confidence in manipulating and analyzing structured and unstructured data from multiple sources and systems. To succeed, you will need exceptional problem-solving expertise and attention to detail, as well as the ability to adapt quickly in a business environment where transformation is constant. You will also need to develop a broad knowledge of the business, and leverage that knowledge to deliver automated, scalable systems and tools that deliver information and confidence to make better pricing decisions more quickly.

Responsibilities
• Serve as analytical thought leader to drive data driven pricing strategy and execution decisions
• Apply statistical analysis methods (incl. regression) to guide product packaging, pricing and sales GTM decisions
• Visualize,interpret and present the results of the analyses, including both tactical and strategic recommendations up through executive management
• Work with cross functional stakeholders to design and implement easy-to-interpret, actionable dashboards for various target audiences to track past and current sales and pricing performance, and compare to forecasts and plans
• Design and development of automated reporting, visualization, and tools for pricing-related information across a variety of delivery mechanisms (e.g., an advanced pricing analytics tool such as Vendavo or PROS, SFDC views, SFDC Wave Analytics, Einstein Analytics)
• Propose innovative solutions to meet the competitive pricing intelligence decision support needs of the across the business
• Interrogate the BI data warehouses and data marts in response to ad-hoc business queries
• Design and deliver user friendly tools and analysis to support business recommendations and decision-making based on the results of the data analysis
• Lead or support virtual cross-functional teams to deliver continuous improvement of pricing intelligence and target price guidance
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Quantitative Marketing, or Engineering preferred or an MBA, combined with Statistics knowledge and professional experience in a quantitative discipline
• 5+years of experience in pricing and/or strategic financial analysis, business planning or analysis, or similar quantitative discipline
• 5+ years experience in tech industry with 15+ years of work experience is preferred
• Ability to understand the organization's strategy and apply it to pricing strategies and execution
• Strong curiosity towards the evolving market and pricing trends, including monetization models
• Experience with advanced pricing analytics applications (PROS, Vendavo, etc.) is highly desired
• Strong presentation skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong ability to team with others
• High energy, creative, and self-starting; comfortable with ambiguity and with an ability to complete multiple projects on time
• Knowledge and experience with system integrations, data mapping and software development principles
• Expert knowledge of data modeling and Excel, as well as statistical, database and data visualization products (e.g. R, SPSS, SS; SQL, Access; Pentaho,Tableau)
• Experience working with sales representatives and leadership
• Expertise with other standard office technology products and apps (e.g., MS Office – PowerPoint, Word, etc…)
• A solid understanding of relational databases is expected
• Capable of working in and leading virtual teams
