Director of Marketing-Builder
General Description
This position will lead and manage all B2B marketing activities and business development initiatives to drive the acceptance and growth of the Samsung brand and Luxury brand (TBD) into the home building and remodeling industries. This role will significantly contribute to achieving or exceeding annual sales and margin objectives. Leadership accountabilities include how the marketing department plans and collaborates with key internal departments and outside agency support. The marketing role will focus support on the Samsung builder sales organization, builder distributors, retail builder distributors, builders, remodelers, interior designers and architects. This position will be responsible for developing the builder channel’s marketing strategy, execution plans and initiating new business development activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Define the long-term business, marketing strategy vision and annual execution plans
• Accountable for achieving current annual sales targets and margins while positioning the business for continued growth in future years
• Establish the Samsung go-to-market value proposition and energizing its on-going relevance with distribution partners
• Identify insights that enables the Samsung builder sales organization to partner with distribution partners to drive their growth, increase profitability and reduce cost
• Business and relationship management practices with outside marketing/advertising agency
• Establish marketing performance metrics and growth targets. Coordinate with outside marketing/advertising agency
• Design, develop and justify new marketing programs for distribution partners
• Develop and manage marketing budgets
• Creates trade sales presentations for the sales organization to leverage with distribution partners, builders, remodelers, interior designers, kitchen & bath designers and architects
• Creates internal business update communication and presentations as required
• Conduct on-going talent pool discussions with department employees to ensure a high-performing marketing organization and employee engagement
• Provide a leadership example of mentoring and candid feedback on employee performance
• Collaborate with the National Sales Director to implement the basis of the “Challenger Sale” principles

• Excels with software programs, i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word and new/emerging presentation programs
Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of directly related experience is required; a Masters Degree in business or marketing is preferred
• History of professional skill development and learning
• Progressive B2B marketing leadership career (10+ years) working with building material manufacturers or consumer durable goods manufacturers
• Turning business vision and strategy into marketing execution plans and actions
• B2B or B2C brand management
• New product introductions and launch campaigns
• Developing media plans to drive brand awareness and lead generation programs
• Creative B2B brand message development and campaign management; collateral materials, product catalogs, print media, trade show events, social media, digital trade, SEM, retargeting, demand-side platform (DSP) and direct mail
• Marketing budget development and management
• Engaging and collaborating with national industry associations, i.e. NAHB, NKBA, ASID
• Trade customer and business turnaround success
• New organization start-up
• Merchandising and/or marketing leadership roles
• Developing talent
• Leading or contributing to a growing high performance marketing organization
• Holding people accountable for performance to internal and external marketing performance metrics and professional development objectives
Necessary Skills / Attributes
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company. Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects. Read and interpret marketing documents, media materials, and contracts (or related documents) based on corporate legal and marketing standards and philosophy. Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for internal and external personnel at all levels, especially in the sales and marketing, logistical, or financial areas of clients, prospects, and company. Superior level of collateral development and project management skills, including the ability to prepare written plans and schedules, identify objectives, create promotional materials, coordinate and direct project teams, manage creative developers, select and control printing and production resources, and manage budgets. Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames. Ability to negotiate on behalf of function to come to agreement by managing communications through discussions and compromise; issues are long-term operational, tactical and strategic in nature.
