Xerox is seeking a Director, Business Development and Strategy, with a strong record of success in developing strategies that lead to new business opportunities.
This role will be at the intersection of business and technical teams, with a focus on applying emerging technologies to create new market opportunities that are high value and differentiated. It will be critical to understand technology trends and market dynamics to identify new opportunity spaces, create hypotheses around new potential offerings, and iterate quickly by engaging customers and partners to refine the product-market fit and validate the value proposition and business model. This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA, operating within an entrepreneurial environment inside a large corporation that aims to accelerate product development while taking advantage of access to a wide range of global customers.
Responsibilities:
• Understand new technologies from Xerox R&D and connect them with high-value or emerging market opportunities that will scale to attractive new business opportunities.
• Develop a pipeline of new offering options, including specific hypotheses around the value proposition, business model, competitive advantage, value chain and ecosystem partners, and financial assumptions.
• Refine and validate new offering hypotheses by engaging customers, partners, and key influencers.
• Work closely with technical teams through the process to ensure that these new offering options are actionable and feasible, and once validated, transition them to product development and go-to-market functions to commercialize and take to market.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS degree in engineering or business discipline with expertise in market analysis, business planning, innovation strategy, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in a business development, strategy, product development, or product marketing role in B2B technology companies.
• Self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative, environment with excellent organizational and analytical abilities, customer and partner communications skills, and a problem-solving aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or advanced technical degree.
• Deep understanding of emerging technologies, platform strategies, and business models related to artificial intelligence, context-aware computing, and the Internet of Things.
• Expertise in financial modeling and real options analysis.
