SUMMARY
The Solution Director for Digital Transformation is responsible for developing the strategy, frameworks, solution design and development for digital solutions as part of NCR’s Digital Enablement focus area.
The role will focus on delivering “connected commerce experiences” across Retail, Hospitality and financial services industries and develop solutions that will increase the share of digital transactions going through NCR’s platform. This vital leader will discover and map out the end consumer user journeys and customer user-journeys in each industry, designing the solution roadmap (with market-fit definition), driving prioritization and alignment across a wide-range of stakeholders across Industry specific solution teams, product management, and technology teams. Examples include e-commerce and m-commerce solutions such as Consumer Self Ordering, Click and Collect, Digital Coupons/Receipts, Store Associate enablement and Evolution of connected device strategy via IoT implementation.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Lead solution discovery with customers, pre-sales, sales, services, product management.
• Define user journeys and identify friction points and innovation opportunities.
• Prioritize solution requirements in accordance with industry & portfolio level strategic priorities, working in collaboration with Industry specific solution, Product Management and Technology teams.
• Develop a solution road-map and establish intersections and interactions with other solutions in the broader NCR solution eco-system, built on top of the platform.
• Design and develop the prioritized solutions to address friction-points and innovation opportunities along the user-journeys for both the customer and the end-consumer.
• Clearly articulate the value to the customer and the end-consumer for each solution.
• Develop Epics and acceptance criteria.
• Provide requirements to product management and technology teams, linking them to User-Journeys and NCR’s strategic offers of Channel transformation, Digital Enablement and Omni-channel Platform.
• Actively enable synergies across the industries (Retail, Hospitality and Financial services) with the development of common digital frameworks for connected commerce.
• Understand specific geographic needs and lead solutions customization to ensure market-fit and adoption.
• Own and manage the Solution life-cycle from conceptual to end-of-life.
• Own integrated solution definition and governance across Hardware, Software and Services product management.
• Drive decisions on whether parts of the solution need to be developed in-house or enabled through a partnership, leveraging the power of the platform and market-place.
• Lead and perform Market and competition analysis to understand the existing solutions landscape.
• Develop business case for the solution roadmap – with revenue and margin sizing.
• Own sales enablement strategy and coordination for the solution.
• Lead Solution Realization Teams (SRTs) from requirements to general availability, working closely with Industry solution teams and Go to Market teams.
• Accountable for the pricing strategy and provides guidelines on Go-to Market offers.
• Support the Go to Market and Marketing teams in building the revenue funnel and client pipeline.
• Improve stage to stage conversion in the revenue funnel and lead programs to improve funnel velocity.
• Develop frameworks and perform analysis to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities that can accelerate the realization of the digital enablement strategy.
• Act as the point of contact for Corporate acquisition teams for specific acquisition opportunities and lead the product/capability requirements definition and evaluation.
• Lead the operational activities of integrating the new acquisitions into NCR’s portfolio of solutions and product road-maps.
• Clearly communicate how the industry division’s portfolio aligns with division strategy, as well as NCR’s corporate strategy with excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Evangelize NCR’s industry thought leadership through speaking engagements, white papers etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Technology or Business
• 10+ years of experience over-all, with recent focus on developing digital solutions
• Basic financial analysis skills and business acumen
• Cross-functional Management experience and collaboration in a matrix environment
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and negotiate buy-in
• Excellent communication skills – Presentation, Verbal and Written
• Openness to learn new solutions, products and adapt in a dynamic environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)
• 3-4-year prior work experience in the e-commerce and mobile commerce industry
• Openness to take additional responsibilities and stretch assignments
• Prior client interaction experience in a solution consulting role
