THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Market Strategy, the Sr. Director, Europe Market Strategy will lead the development of a strategic roadmap for Europe expansion and growth, and European local market launches from a Brand and Consumer/Consultant perspective.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Sr. Director of Europe Market Strategy will help drive the design of the overarching strategy for R+F’s Europe expansion. They will manage the development of local European markets positioning, communications and brand portfolio refinements to ensure successful European market launches which meet the unique needs of consultants and consumers in each new market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITILES
• Build, manage and execute the European expansion strategic growth plan
• Lead the work to identify and prioritize new European market opportunities.
• Design and deliver staged European market entry plans and consumer marketing/programs.
• Develop in depth understanding of European consumer dynamics. Outline cultural nuances to be addressed for market success in product, brand, distribution channel, and other communications.
• Lead the strategic direction with Consumer Insights team to determine the implications of Consumer Insights for new European markets, to optimize the Consumer and Consultant experiences.
• Ensure the global consistency, integration and localization of product/brand messaging to consultants in all new European markets.
• Lead brand communications development and alignment with US lead market to meet the needs of local European markets while maintaining global brand integrity.
• Lead digital amplification/adaptation for new European market launches.
• Select and manage local European marketing, strategy and PR agencies/consultants for new market development
• Liase with global markets to establish and refine best practices for market launch and acceleration
• Manage European Market strategy team, budgeting and reporting functions
• Collaboration with Global Development & Operations team to deliver on all new European market launch plans
• Develop and update for continuous improvement key global strategy/brand best practices to optimize new European market success
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will work with a high level of accountability and professionalism while embracing this opportunity to drive the future of Rodan + Fields in the international arena bringing a successful track record operating in European markets of multi-level marketing organizational leadership and international expansion. Strong team development, analytical, and verbal and written communications skills are essential.
Background & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• MBA or Executive MBA program desired
• 12-15 years’ demonstrated leadership experience in a global team environment
• 8 years in global brand/marketing planning
• Strong understanding and awareness of European marketplace and industry trends relative to customer and consumer behavior.
• Experience and exposure to the beauty industry at the national sales level and/or global sales level
• Strong understanding of consumer dynamics and cultural requirements of global markets
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work well across an organizational matrix
• Proven success building, managing and retaining high-performance and effective teams
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast, collaborative, agile environment
• International marketing experience
• Experience with direct marketing channel is preferred
• Skincare or beauty experience preferred
• Must be willing to travel internationally (approximately 50-75% of time)
