Sr. Commercial Director Partners – Starbucks
As the Sr. Commercial Director Partners, Starbucks, you will be a senior leader within the Keurig Partners business and will drive strategic leadership of multiple functions within the Starbucks Customer Focused Team (CFT). You will have direct accountability for the partner management team supporting Starbucks located in our Seattle, WA, Waterbury, VT, and Burlington, MA offices, and will be the senior partner leader on site in Seattle. You will be responsible for developing strong relationships across key individuals at all levels within Starbucks, gaining a full understanding of their needs, developing and delivering to them our growing portfolio of partner services, and further establishing Keurig as a trusted and highly valued partner of theirs. You will collaborate with the Keurig management team to establish a growth platform, identifying business opportunities, setting and communicating priorities and coordinating appropriate resources to achieve desired results. You will ultimately be responsible for owning and delivering on Volume, Net Revenue, Operating Margin, and Partner Satisfaction targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and deliver a partner strategy to maximize the mutual value of the relationship and benefits derived from it.
• Provide sales/commercial expertise and leadership across the partner brand portfolio helping develop and drive joint business planning and commercial programs with multiple partners.
• Develop and deliver the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the Starbucks partnership with accountability for volume, net revenue, and operating margin.
• Oversee the Starbucks cross-functional CFT to ensure efficient and effective delivery of maximum value creation for the partnership.
• Deliver on all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Starbucks partnership.
• Build and implement key strategies to expand the value-added services provided to Starbucks and improve partner satisfaction.
• Develop partner management talent with capabilities to deliver against current and future requirements.
• Highlight risks and opportunities for delivering revenue and profitability growth.
• Participate as a member of the Partners Leadership Team.
• Develop and grow high level partner relationships with senior leadership at Starbucks.
• Partner with internal commercial, marketing, product development, insights, and supply chain teams to develop partner services and associated programs/initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of Keurig Partners’ people, processes, and tools related to the value-added services, customer service, supply chain, and other areas by working cross-functionally.
• Foster an environment that empowers the Keurig Partners Starbucks CFT with responsibility and the authority to achieve goals, as well as holding each member accountable for the attainment of those goals.
• Serve as the Seattle site’s most senior partner management leader, responsible for setting a positive work culture, managing and maximizing talent, managing performance, ensuring robust communication processes and building team culture to ensure high performance results.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
• BS/BA degree and a minimum 15 years of experience, Master’s Degree and minimum 10 years of experience, in sales, alliances, or a related function, with progressive career experience to senior level roles inclusive of people leadership over a customer focused account team.
• Experience in a “Fortune 500” company within the Consumer Packaged Goods, Beverage, Small Appliance or related industries.
• Previous Starbucks and/or specialty coffee experience highly desirable.
• A passion for finding and delivering mutually beneficial solutions
• Highly adaptable with proven learning agility
• Position will be located in Seattle, WA and travel will be approximately 25%.
PREFERRED:
• Experience across multiple commercial functions, such as sales, customer marketing, brand management, revenue growth management, etc.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of key business drivers for Starbucks and Keurig.
• Exceptional sales skills including negotiation, conflict management, account management, account penetration, strategic selling, category management, sales forecasting, and leading edge sales strategies.
