Product Management Director I- Samsung Galaxy Store Applications
General Description
As Director, this individual will lead localization and product management of Samsung store (“Galaxy Stores”) which includes Samsung Galaxy Apps and Theme Store by defining product features and its roadmap. In close collaboration with Store Operation team and Business Development team, this person will oversee product life cycle throughout from initial ideation and concept design, business modeling and analysis, development, implementation, launch to product roadmap management. By working closely with HQ’s counter-parts, this individual also has the responsibility to own and manage the product roadmap and service P&L as well as subsequent product roadmap for Samsung’s next generation online content services for north America market
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead product management of Samsung Galaxy Store applications or services working closely with internal and external stake holders and report directly to Head of Service Management Team
• Develop and manage product requirements and roadmap for existing and new client by working closely with various teams both US and Korea
• Understand Samsung’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are
recognized best in the industry.
• Analyze market and consumer requirements and translate those requirements into MRD/PRD to
Enhance user satisfaction
• Lead the product development from the ideation through implementation to the actual
Commercialization
• Establish shared vision across company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution
• Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
• Install rigid software/service product development process in Samsung organization
• Develop business case and ROI models for content and service offerings to evaluate and prioritize offerings.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams for software and platform development, QA testing, customer support, as well as client development where necessary
• Responsible for full P&L as well as delivery of services and enhancements to the market
Necessary Skills / Attributes
• 15+ years total experience with 7+ years of mobile/wireless related industry experiences.
• 7+ years of Product Management and or product producing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience for Business Operation and Management experience
• Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
• Prefer global & cross functional working experience
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
Skills & Attributes
• Very strong analytical, problem solving, written and verbal skills.
• Mature understanding of building, operating, and launching services in Wireless and/or consumer service industry
• Capable of managing several high profile programs and project activities to completion.
• Comfortable with presenting in front of business executives.
• Prepare launch go/no go checklists and create contingency plans. Provide project updates to management that include progress, risks, issues and mitigation recommendations
• Accountability for full life cycle of service operation by coordinating with internal and external resources, third party partners, and working with cross-functional departments (HQ team , Sales, Marketing, IT, R&D and Legal).
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously (in various stages of implementation).
