We are looking for a Global Indirect Procurement Leader to join our team in Newark, DE.

In this role, you will be accountable for the development and execution of the indirect buy strategy and the development of strategic market perspectives for all key indirect spend categories supporting the enterprise. Additionally you’ll provide leadership for multiple team leaders who are accountable for regional indirect spend supporting the regional/enterprise businesses and functions. Your key focus will be on maximizing procurement leverage across the entire global indirect spend. You’ll utilize strategic sourcing, category management, and Supplier Performance Management tools to deliver value to the businesses and functions. You’ll also provide direction and oversight, and drive the performance management, talent planning and compensation processes while creating a team environment that engages associates.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing the overall vision, strategy, and objectives for sourcing and ensure effective execution of the strategy
• Integrating and aligning functional priorities with divisional and enterprise goals and initiatives
• Developing a high-performing team with the appropriate skills, knowledge, and bench strength to drive functional excellence and deliver on the long-term needs of the business
• Providing leadership for multiple team leaders, which includes driving the performance management, talent planning, and compensation processes
• Developing strategic relationships with key suppliers and engage them in strategic supplier management for value creation and innovation
• Setting high standards for the organization for ethics, professionalism, and driving compliance
• Coaching the buying team on the use of standard sourcing processes, category management, engaging low cost country suppliers, risk mitigation, and supplier relationship management
• Working with the buying team to evaluate the external market and develops strategies to mitigate risk and create competitive advantage
• Working with the entire supply chain to identify, assess, qualify, and develop new suppliers needed for new product launches
• Supporting/Leading the buying teams during the selection and management of outsourcing activities. Work in collaboration with functional leaders in assessing and developing the business case for make-versus-buy decisions
• Developing and leading implementation of global category procurement strategies for assigned indirect procurement categories
• Leading indirect procurement activities, ensuring timely execution and focusing upon global, regional and division solutions
• Identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders to increase engagement and develop a robust procurement initiatives pipeline
• Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of marketplace, benchmarks, and industry best practices for assigned categories
Qualifications
Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years’ procurement experience
• 5+ years of experience leading and developing individuals and teams
• Commercial/business experience and expertise
• Demonstrated ability to:
◦ Clearly establish expectations, fairly address performance issues and hold others accountable
◦ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people in a global and matrixed organization
◦ Develop teams and associates
• Demonstrated skills and experience with high value purchasing and contract negotiations across a diverse range of commodities and services
• In-depth knowledge of variety of procurement implementation approaches (e.g. RFX, e-auction)
• Strong understanding of sourcing processes, market analysis, and business/ function value creation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated understanding of:
◦ Legal contracts
◦ Strategic sourcing
◦ Project management
• Demonstrated experience:
◦ Developing and communicating vision and strategic procurement initiatives, both verbally and in writing, to internal and external stakeholders
◦ Influencing others, managing competing internal stakeholder priorities and dealing with ambiguity
◦ Developing and execute strategic plans and successfully manage multiple priorities
◦ Performing sustained supplier performance management and continuous improvement
• Ability to travel 20% domestically and internationally
• Desired Job Qualifications:
• Operational and/or procurement experience in most if not all of the Indirect categories
