General Description
We are a Product Strategy & Marketing team within the mobile division at Samsung Electronics America. The Director of Business Planning will be responsible for developing, negotiating, coordinating, and communicating business plans for SEA. Develop sales business plans and coordinate business strategic plans.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Conduct mobile business meetings to identify sales target status and product requirements to ensure fulfillment of product development and delivery to achieve sales plans
•Develops and manages business summary and various business simulation for Top-level management to make right strategic decision and achieve business target including revenue and market share
•Functions as the focal point to improve communications between headquarters and corresponding SEA team members
•May frequently communicate between headquarters and SEA organization on Sales Forecast, production allocation, strategic planning, and inventory management
•Coordinates and handles the escalation of critical sales risk, launch issues, and sales demands with sales & marketing members
•Reviews and identifies variances in weekly PSI, as compared to outstanding sales orders and forecasts, in order to plan for future sales Forecast planning
•Prepares program budgets, project plans, management, progress, expenditure, and other related reports to identify performance and successful achievement of objectives or variances
•Responsible for routine or standard technical problems and responds to standard requests from internal and external customers
•Makes decisions within guidelines and policies.
Qualifications / Attributes
•Bachelor's Degree in engineering or business with 15+ years of directly related experience is required; Masters or MBA degree preferred with 10 years of experience.
•Experience should include telecommunications industry sales management or wireless telecommunications position requiring management of sales development, product, program management, and long-term strategic planning
•Experience researching and resolving sales, product development, and launch issues

Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels with the customer and within and outside the company. Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects. Read and interpret detailed and complex customer requirements. Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels, especially in the sales and marketing, logistical, or financial areas of clients, prospects, and SEA. Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames. Demonstrated excellence in time management skills and follow up to ensure meeting on time deliverables. The ability to accept tasks and problems/situations that differ and require creativity to search for solutions among learned consequences. Only broad and general guidelines exist for solving problems. The ability to utilize implied knowledge of task alternatives and to make spontaneous decisions using past experience and the guidance of successful experiences of others. Interact with all levels within the organization and has frequent external contacts.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions
Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity.
The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PCs, printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area.
May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule.
Travel required 15%-25%
