POSITION SUMMARY:
The Channel Director Off-Premise wins, maintains, and expands relationships with assigned Off-premise partners and accounts.The Channel Director Off-Premise, is responsible for cultivating sales, profitability, and acts as the Beam-Suntory subject matter expert to our sales teams.Specifically, by providing coaching, training & mentorship to the field sales representatives and their leadership on successful route to market strategy and brand awareness off the Beam-Suntory products.
SPAN OF CONTROL:
This position will be responsible for the supervision of the following groups:
• No direct reports
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for New York statewide Off-premise accounts and territory development (Time allocation: 75% Metro NY; 25% Upstate NY)
• Develop close relationship with Beam-Suntory staff
• Work closely with Trade Development on program development and goal setting
• Interface with other SGWS Beam-Suntory departments on pricing, brand development and inventory
• Manages First Class channel workbooks closely with DM and Sales team to ensure quarterly NSV and KPI delivery
• Set strategies for category expansion
• Attainment of sales goals
• Responsible for assisting SGWS division sales manager and district managers in managing key accounts, the identification of opportunities by brand, by account and collaboratively developing programs
• Ensure that SGWS sales team efforts, account calls and programs are aligned around focus initiatives
• Position has responsibility for training SGWS sales personnel and key retail accounts on Beam-Suntory portfolio as well as elements of the integrated sales and marketing strategy
• Responsible for developing and working with SGWS teams on approved programming in key on-premise accounts within the designated geographical area
• Maintains and analyzes market performance data by channel / accounts and ensures accurate and timely communication of predetermined reports, changing field conditions and competition to management
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the wine and spirits industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both verbal and written with the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Strong training and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry cases of product up to 50 lbs,
• Experience working for a liquor/wine distributor or supplier and/or a buyer for a retailer specifically, selling Spirits.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work well with suppliers and executives.
• Strong relationship building skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Five to seven years of experience in purchasing and selling spirits.
• A strong ability to read and interpret data to present the data in a clear and concise manner.
• Bilingual
Knowledge of applicable state regulations and adult beverage market dynamics
