Job Description:
• Oversee the equity for the Glade® global business, including both long-term strategic equity planning and ongoing IMC and fragrance development.
• Deliver best-in-class equity-building initiatives and ensure adherence to brand communication strategy/positioning via ownership of the global brand toolkit.
• Partner with regional commercial teams to develop breakthrough in-market programs, including timely platform development, sell-in materials, and activation ideas.
• Be the brand expert on media planning and toolkit deployment to assist markets in their annual planning and execution.
• Own the fragrance strategy for Glade, and partner with the markets to operationalize the execution via excellent fragrance development and commercial planning (in partnership with regional commercial teams).
• Provide specific recommendations and sell-in plans to senior management, field sales, and customers.
• Gain first-hand market knowledge by regular market visits to gain an understanding of how Glade and competitive brands go to market. As a market expert, formulate strategies and tactics to enhance household penetration and consumer awareness/engagement.
• Become the brands’ consumer expert – analyze market research, analyze competitive activity and secondary resources to fully identify and leverage consumer trends and insights.
• Work with the advertising/promotion/experiential agencies to ensure brand communications are consistent with consumer insights and maximize the resources invested. Employing all media vehicles, direct uniqueness in the communication strategy versus applying a formulate approach to advertising.
• Maintain open communications among all cross-functional teams (Finance, Sales and Operations) to ensure flawless execution on all initiatives. Ensure seamless information flow and feedback on a consistent basis.
• Develop the integrated communications and launch strategies, and packaging, for all new product launches, working closely with the regional commercial teams to meet business objectives.
• Work closely with the Vice President, Marketing Directors and Brand Managers, collaborating on successful short and long term strategies, as well as colleagues in the other business units.
• Coach and manage multiple direct reports.
Qualifications:
• 15+ years of combined innovation and brand management experience in a leading global consumer packaged goods company.
• In addition to traditional brand management expertise, it would be valuable if the candidate has spent time in other functional roles such as sales, insights, category management, etc.
• Exceptional ability and experience leading a team of people; can engender support and trust from a team and lead through influence.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility with the company’s executive team and leaders.
• An analytic, strategic thinker who is self-confident, straightforward, flexible and demonstrates a sense of urgency.
• An undergraduate degree in Marketing (or related discipline) is required; an MBA is desired.
