The Opportunity:
Director, Strategic Insights, Business Analytics, strategically supports and manages a wide range of business intelligence programs/projects designed to support R+F business strategies.
We are looking for a strategic visionary, that can translate business needs into strategic analytic initiatives. You are a great storyteller, someone who can mentor and manage a team to strategically turn data into meaningful business stories using advanced analytics, statistics and visualization. In this position, you will mentor and manage a team that works with all business units in the delivery of analytics and data intensive research initiatives for the organization.
You will accomplish this objective through: developing relationships with key business partners, developing and driving an Analytics Center of Excellence across all analysts at RF, leveraging deep business understanding, gathering and defining requirements, analyzing and interpreting data, and distributing and presenting results and insights, and mentoring your team and other distributed analysts to do the same. You and your team will be expected to employ traditional and innovative solutions providing prescriptive recommendations and insights, as well as presenting concise, value added conclusions to senior management supporting the strategic decision process.
You will have the opportunity to impact the business, both strategically and tactically, by interpreting, synthesizing and effectively communicating the results from analytic and primary research studies.
Success will be defined by the ability manage and mentor a team to execute and communicate analytic and primary research projects/results with excellence while considering the broad implications across the organization. Success occurs when key stakeholders fully understand, and are able to integrate results and recommendations based on the advanced analytics and insights into their business processes.
Responsibilities:
Be the primary liaison between Business Intelligence team and all company departments to support the delivery of strategic reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions by performing, but not limited to, the following activities:
• Collaborate and Work with the Sr. Director of Business Intelligence to establish and manage the Strategy to support RF Analytic need across the organization.
• Support analytic research and information requests across all business capacities. Manage the ongoing analysis of data to provide insights and findings to stakeholders; and successfully communicate actionable research findings and implications
• Disseminate learning across the business in order to draw actionable insights that improve productivity and drive business results
• Develop and Mentor a team of Analysts that generate and communicate clear, compelling and actionable insights through the use of data and information
• Establish operational objectives and work plans for the team that support corporate and executive goals, and execute performance evaluations against plan.
• Develop budget(s) for planned objective(s), measure and adherence to budget, schedules and workplans.
• Create Analytical and Business Requirements Framework for BI analysis requests. Ensure cross functional team understanding and training, as well as adherence to standards.
• Establish the Analytics Center of Execllence (ACE) for both BI&A and Distributed Analysts throughout the organization. Create onboarding and strategic business ciriculum to be provided through the ACE for all RF Analysts. Develop and Chair internal RF Analysts ACE committee, to cross train/exchange information across the BI&A and distributed analysts throughout the company
• Collaborate with BI Team, Data Science, BICC and business stakeholders to collect, analyze and document business/technical requirements for business intelligence and analytics solutions
• Ensure the definition, measurement and publishing of RF’s key performance indicators (KPI’s). Define, support and train on the business intelligence solutions, reports and dashboards.
• Partner with management and cross-functional partners to assess/prioritize the business issues and clearly articulate data/information-based answers to key questions.
• Work closely with Business Intelligence resources to ensure technical implementation requirements are interpreted and implemented correctly
• Prioritize and manage delivery of long-term projects and daily ad-hoc data and analysis needs
Required Skills:
• Minimum of 7 years of applied analytics and data analysis experience, working with complex datasets, and 5 years managing people. Use of SQL, SAS, R or other data analysis language a plus.
• Ability to create and manage budgets, operational and project plans as required to support department goals. Experience in some or all of the following areas of marketing analysis: segmentation, predictive analytics, digital analytics, measurement, business intelligence, and/or market research
• Ability to extract complicated concepts to a high strategic level and manage implementation of key initiatives within the analytic groups of the organization
• Ability to mentor and train cross functional teams in Analytic and Business Concepts, and raise the bar for analytic performance.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel including pivoting capabilities and analysis modules
• Must have working experience in BI Software, Tools and Concepts used across the industry. Strong SQL and Database Reporting Skills Required, Advanced Analytics preferred. Experience with BI Tools such as BIRST, Tableau and Qlikview a plus.
• Understanding of OLAP and Enterprise Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts, including star, snowflake data models and have implemented BI on top of them
• Ability to Plan, Coordinate, Monitor, projects and large coordinated tasks. Understanding of Project Management Methodologies and Tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and complex business concepts in technical terms
• Self motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision, and able to work well with stakeholders and project staff.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize analytical work and deliverables. Able to lead teams to consensus decisions on complex business and technical data challenges.
• Bachelor Degree in Business, Technology, Visual Sciences, Statistics, or other related discipline. Advanced Degree a plus.
• Social Commerce/Direct Sales/Multi Level Marketing Industry experience a plus Experience with the following technologies a plus
