GENERAL SUMMARY
The Constellation Brands Director of Sales will manage the dedicated YMCO CBI Sales organization and be accountable for CBI's overall off premise results in the Washington State market. Reports to the VP Sales, Constellation Brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop quantifiable, targeted sales objectives for the CBI dedicated sales team to meet company and supplier objectives. Prepare and roll up monthly sales quotas and incentives for the CBI sales team.
• Direct the sales activities and monitor the performance of assigned personnel to meet the company and supplier objectives.
• Motivate the sales team to perform assigned responsibilities, and identify and provide correction actions when necessary to meet company objectives.
• Develop prudent direction to the YMCO full book management team on CBI objectives in non-dedicated accounts, and manage results to these expectations.
• Recruit talented personnel when needed, and train current personnel to continuously improve the capabilities of the CBI dedicated team.
• Direct Manager Team meetings to highlight upcoming initiatives. Also, contribute in regular supplier distributor meetings to provide relevant market insight for aiding future business decisions.
• Oversee the successful execution of key company sales activities, including surveys, company events and tastings. Also, participate in important assigned industry related events.
• Ensure that the CBI dedicated sales team stays within provided financial guidelines.
• Ensure that assigned personnel adhere to the federal, state and local laws and regulations governing the sales of alcoholic beverage products.
Accountability:
• This position is required to serve as information resources for, and conduits between, the field and senior management.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited four year college or university in related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of management experience in the beverage alcohol industry.
• Previous supplier work experience helpful, but not mandatory.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. This position further requires the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions or groups of managers, customers, and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. This position also requires the ability to supply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This position requires the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess valid Washington State driver's license, reliable vehicle and clean DMV record.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, conflict management and leadership skills.
• Proven abilities to develop selling strategies targeted to enhance wine and spirit sales within an account
• Proven track record of successful sales and management skills.
• Ability to work with management, direct reports and customers throughout the business and industry at every level.
• Ability to train and develop assigned personnel.
