BACKGROUND:
A tough economic climate coupled with exponential growth in data, and the increasing power of the consumer requires that organizations have a highly developed analytics capability to stay competitive. The NUSA Supply Chain organization plays a vital role in supporting company business strategies through the development and utilization of strong analytics decision making capabilities. The Director of Performance Analytics & Optimization will be responsible for developing a data driven analytics culture within the organization, applying mathematical and statistically rigorous models and performing research in optimization, modeling and statistics to improve decision making and further business objectives.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Performance Analytics & Optimization will be responsible for building and leading a highly skilled team of analytical experts who apply quantitative methods throughout the value chain with the intent of optimizing performance, reducing operational costs , growing revenue and reducing risks to the commercial operation. Specifically the team will be responsible for providing predictive analytics, performance monitoring services and tools, and increasing the use of optimization throughout the value chain. They will also be responsible for enabling the best possible decisions to be made across the end-to-end value chain by directing information management, providing analytical skills and tools, conducting research and creating a data oriented analytical culture.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Build and lead a group of analytical experts who will provide predictive analytics, performance monitoring services and tools, and optimization solutions to improve value chain performance.
-Develop a holistic analytics strategy and approach to providing modeling & optimization services to the NUSA Supply Chain
-Network Strategy, Analytics & Optimization
-Inventory Segmentation and Working Capital Reduction
-Leveraging Globe and Modeling Support
-Fixed Distribution Analytics
-Fleet and Carrier Optimization
-Vendor Facing and Procurement Win-wins
-Adoption of New Technologies: Control Towers, Big Data Analytics, etc.
-Provide quantitative decisions support to Distribution Operations, Purchasing, Transportation, Supply Chain Planning, Supply Chain Business Support, and Information Systems, and through these groups, the operating divisions of the Company.
-Work with the Supply Chain Leadership Team to coordinate and prioritize issues, projects, and initiatives.
-Manage, coach and develop the Performance Analytics and & Optimization team so that they will be ready to take on positions of increased responsibility within the company
-Lead the recruiting efforts for the department, identifying internal and external candidates to ensure a highly skilled pipeline of talent
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
-Master's degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline such as Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics
-Modeling experience using standard mathematical modeling methodologies such as discrete and stochastic
-Expertise in optimization, risk-benefit analysis, nonlinear dynamic systems, dynamic programming, algorithms, stochastic control, queueing theory, and probability theory.
-Statistical skills should include familiarity with all forms of inferential statistics, statistical modeling, and machine learning
-Familiarity with statistical/modeling programming packages such as SAS, R, CPLEX, and related.
-Experience with Relational Databases such as SQL Server, and Access
-Data Visualization experience utilizing tools like Tableau
-Knowledge of the programming skills required for Java, C/C++, SQL, Visual Basic, etc.
-Understanding of Hadoop frameworks such as Hive, Sqoop, and Pig
EXPERIENCE:
-Minimum of 8 to 10 years relevant experience, which may include Operations Research, Information Systems, Business Analysis, Financial Analysis or Operations.
-Experience in supply chain and logistics utilizing advanced analytics to perform Network Design, Inventory Modeling, Scheduling, Optimization and Heuristics highly preferred.
-Consumer products industry experiences a plus.
