Bosch Packaging Technology specializes in the pharmaceutical industry. Complete packaging solutions are provided for parenteral drugs, ophthalmics, animal health products, vitamins, and nutritional supplements. Products include vial, capsule, syringe, and powder filling; iisolation technology, and cartoning.
Job Description
Primary Accountabilities include:
1. Strategic leadership for the Operations group
2. The on-time-delivery of machines and parts to both internal and external customers;
3. Supporting profitable growth by delivering targeted gross margins (parts and machines);
4. Driving and supporting the core values of Product Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Safety
5. Create and foster a highly active and visible culture of Continuous Improvement.

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering Supervisor
• Machine Shop Supervisor
• SVC Supervisor
• Project Managers
• Assembly Supervisor
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Create and implement strategic objectives for Operations departments.
• Using Balanced Scorecard methodology
• Ensure profitable growth, product quality, employee safety, organizational flexibility and continuous improvement are the common pillars of strategies and tactics
• Establish priorities and implement clear process to evaluate & manage progress
• Optimize capacity and operational models (internal vs. external sourcing, resources, etc)
• Processes and metrics to achieve effective Organizational Flexibility
1. Develop/manage budgets for the Operations groups. Ensure planning / procedures are in place to assure operational performance against business objectives.
2. Lead employee development within Operations. Includes formal performance evaluation processes, informal coaching / counseling, documentation and other necessary employee relations activities.
3. Set the tone for Quality. Define quality standards and testing processes to assure parts and machinery are complete, functional and properly documented for shipment to the customer.
4. Use and enhance visual management. Includes accountability of operations associates to meet hours/cost targets and due dates. Also includes mechanisms to reflect, learn and continuously improve over time.
5. Set the tone for Customer satisfaction and responsiveness within Operations
6. Establish and maintain a culture of cooperation and collaboration within Operations. Also with other Bosch Packaging entities (PANP, PAUR, PAUD, PACR, PAWA, etc)
7. Be a leader for CIP within the organization. Includes active and visible processes within Operations and a positive influence throughout the Minneapolis site.
8. Lead the effective technology transfer from other Bosch Packaging business units as required.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a business or engineering field; MBA a plus.
• Must have a minimum of 10+ years work experience in a senior manufacturing/ operations leadership role providing strategic leadership and driving continuous improvement in a fully integrated manufacturing environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Past experience in the packaging industry, job shop environment and high speed equipment preferred
• Demonstrated experience with financial/ operational controls and programs
• Working knowledge of engineering, manufacturing practices, project management, safety, quality, purchasing and materials management
• Aseptic design and cGMP requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of product design, materials, parts, production, equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, and product specifications
• Past experience in developing and leading teams, leading departments, and managing/developing staff
• Excellent written, 1-on1 and presentation communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Organizational/prioritization skills
• Team player; good facilitation and negotiation skills
• Customer-service orientation
• PC skills and experience using basic business software; knowledge of SAP preferred
• German language capabilities preferred
