We are currently hiring for our nextLearning & Development (L&D) Lead (Contract to Hire) in Boston, MA.
The L&D Lead will lead learning and development projects on behalf of assigned clients within the Boston Beer Company ecosystem, driving projects from conception to creation to on-going maintenance and continuous improvement. The L&D Lead applies his/her expertise in adult learning to ensure effective, efficient capability building that targets critical skills and behaviors that drive success and meets compliance requirements while integrating the Boston Beer Company culture throughout. Primary areas of focus are learning and development for Maintenance and Warehouse employees and eLearning development.
What You'll Do:
• Develops collaborative relationships and functions as an expert consultant to our HR Business Partners, key business leaders, subject matter experts and Learning resources to identify performance improvement opportunities, close knowledge or performance gaps, and gather source content for learning curriculum to support business needs and compliance
• Engages leaders as teachers and builds strong, collaborative working relationships with HR business partners, business leaders, team members, vendors and other key stakeholders
• Participates actively as a part of a broader community of learning professionals inside and outside of the BBC
• Assists with preparation of annual budget
• Manages resources and expenses to drive efficiency and effectiveness
• Standardizes, simplifies, and improves efficiencies and effectiveness of learning. Provides input into the development of and applies consistent approaches for training and development needs assessment, training content development, utilization of identified tools (content development, learning management, etc.) for best-in-class solutions, tracking and maintaining budgets, and benchmarking against KPIs.
Assess
• Conduct needs analysis focused on understanding business requirements and organizational environment to determine critical skills and behaviors and courses needed for designated organizations in Boston Beer Company to thrive.
• Proactively seeks out opportunities to build capability and identifies where developing know how can drive improved business outcomes.
Design and Develop
• Builds curriculum and other learning interventions to onboard new employees, solve key performance gaps or better position Boston Beer Company for the future.
• Creates content outlines, storyboards, A/V scripts, audio recordings for e-learning, classroom course material, facilitator guides, and supporting resource documents
Implement
• Leads course implementation, including user testing / pilots, change management, and integration into day-to-day work
• Clearly communicates logistics and instructions to participants, and produces high-quality agendas and outlines for the sponsors and facilitators of our learning programs
Evaluate
• Obtains measurable results to support the decision-making process regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of learning courses and programs, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to demonstrate the value, manage, and improve offerings
• Responsible for administration and reporting for municipal training grant programs.
What We're Looking For:
• 5-7 years of progressive learning and development experience delivering services to a professional and operational workforce.
• 3-5 years working in a Production/Manufacturing (preferably with focus on Maintenance/Logistics) environment supporting learning and development needs for hourly and salaried employees.
• Desired experience with Orientation and Onboarding programs, Taleo/Oracle Learn LMS, and articulate Storyline.
• Travel to Office and Brewery Locations.
• Proficient in needs assessment, instructional design, delivering/executing, measuring, auditing, and documenting training for production and salaried employees.
• Strong project management experience with the ability to set milestones, drive execution, manage subject matter experts and stakeholders, and ensure successful integration and adoption.
• Experience researching and creating process to support business needs and compliance.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including a highly responsive customer centered disposition and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Experience delivering training support is highly desired
