We are currently searching for a talented Director of Digital Marketingto join our global digital marketing team, reporting to the VP Digital Marketing. In this role, you will lead the strategic planning & on-going execution of all demand creation, lead generation, acquisition & engagement marketing strategies to drive growth of Fender digital products including Play, Tone, Tune, and more. Our mission is to help a new generation of beginning players and guitar enthusiasts at all levels of their musical journey, with Fender Play as the subscription hub for the beginners’ digital and physical playing experience and community.
About the Job:
• Lead the global implementation of a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual rolling marketing plan and calendar for Fender digital properties across all channels, regions and digital formats including desktop, mobile and tablet.
• Reporting into the VP Digital Marketing, you will set the marketing plan, KPI’s, marketing spend, marketing mix, GTM timeline and on-going integrated marketing process needed to hit corporate growth goals for Fender Play and digital products, across the Fender Digital ecosystem, channels, regions (Americas, EMEA, Asia leveraging Fender’s physical product offering and concurrent FMI Core product marketing roadmap.
• Drive cross product and property integration and product improvements to optimize earned and operated channels and the customer journey to grow customer satisfaction and increase membership.
• Contribute to the global Fender digital product roadmap by analysis of customer behavior and opportunities to forecast and in turn make recommendations to identify, prioritize and drive the introduction of new features, content, and enhancements and extensions to fuel growth and adoption of Fender Play.
• Lead the analysis of new partnerships, channels, sponsorships and affiliate-based strategies to inform data driven decision making on investments to drive acquisition, engagement and retention.
• Guide and Leverage the Fender Play dashboard to inform the on-going evolution of all marketing efforts across the funnel to reach key segments, penetrate/test key channels and increase engagement (overseeing analytics, email, SEO/SEM, acquisition conversion, consumer retention, etc.).
• Accountable for assigned marketing spend and mix to acquisition, engagement, retention and LTV/ARPU across all global marketing, product and sales functions.
• Ensure consistent execution of all acquisition, conversion & retention strategies and tactics to improve funnel efficiencies, build community and pursue LTV/ARPU opportunities to upsell and cross-sell throughout the Fender Digital ecosystem, including IAP’s, digital products and Fender Core products.
What you need:
• 5-7 years Demonstrated experience leading people, setting strategy, driving planning & execution and fueling growth of Digital communities, ecosystems and products.
• Very strong strategic planning and multi-level marketing leadership required. Must be able to seamlessly move between outbound & inbound marketing strategies, and between digital marketing (products & services, IAP, acquisition-based approach) and traditional marketing integration (experiential, retail, physical product bundling).
• Demonstrated experience managing building plans, setting budgets, and managing all aspects of the marketing funnel for a given product, brand or community-based application, from top of funnel awareness & addressable audience development (paid media, content, influencers, social media, retail integration, media partnerships & sponsorships), to mid-/bottom- of funnel tactics including Direct Response, Google Adwords/Paid Search, Affiliate marketing, email, etc..
• Working knowledge of best practices and demonstrated experience leading the development of marketing tactics (editorial, incentives, promotions, social media, influencers, fan clubs) to drive a highly engaged user base.
• Experience working within the music / entertainment industry, and working knowledge of parameters surrounding music marketing, publishing and licensing/rights issues preferred but not required.
• Proven experience leading the development of marketing sponsorships and partnerships to drive brand awareness and acquisition.
• Strong (Director Level +) planning & reporting capabilities.
• Experience hiring, leading and developing new teams from scratch.
• Heavy collaboration & communication skills – able to work seamlessly across regions, internal teams and constituencies.
• Strong presentation skills – able to be the face of Fender Play as needed for PR, consumer and retailer based events.
• Strong understanding of the Fender Brand and appreciation for its mission.
