Role / Title
• Leads the Food Safety team for all North American Kraft Heinz products and facilities
• Primary contact with FDA, USDA and CFIA
• Responsible for HACCP / PCP plans
• Risk assessment of new processes, new product and raw materials
• Manage microbiology laboratory function
Key Components of the role
• This role develops the Corporate Food Safety / Regulatory strategy and functional business priorities
• Ability to assess risk and assign priority to manage business needs and regulatory requests
• Understanding of product/package development, manufacturing conversion, logistics operations, procurement, commercialization, and regulatory/health authorities
• Understanding objectives of categories and overarching business
Qualifications:
• This role requires a MS or Ph.D. in a Food Microbiology, Food Safety or related field with exposure to food science/engineering or microbiology
• At least 10 years of food safety/quality assurance experience
• This role requires an understanding of food safety, sanitation/GMP principles and regulatory requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
• This position is core to a career in food manufacturing providing exposure to quality systems, food safety management, sanitation programs, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills which facilitates the ability to negotiate and influence business partners when dealing with highly complex situations
