Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the management of multiple application portfolios and provide resources in support of those portfolios by leveraging partnerships with IT teams (e.g., Operations, Infrastructure, Architecture, Quality Assurance, Business Analysts), vendors, and business leaders. This includes responsibility for directing and overseeing technical teams in the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This role works closely with business leaders and across IT teams in order to ensure the delivery and performance of business solutions.
The goal of this position is:
• Front-End Application Leader
• Extensive experience leading teams to develop responsive, web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, and Node.js, and
• A understanding of cloud-based computer systems
• A leader who understands UI Architecture, DevOps, Lean, Agile CI/CD and uses that knowledge to build highly efficient teams
• Prior experience building microservices will be needed for this leadership opportunity
RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS
• Directs and oversees technical teams in the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and solutions
• Oversees the development of and ensures the adherence to production application support plans, schedules, and assignments
• Builds and maintains partnerships with all IT functions to ensure team members understand business needs and functional specifications
• Provides insight and guidance, and resolves escalated issues throughout the application development, implementation, and support lifecycle
• Maintains and supports assigned portfolios by directing a service delivery team responsible for an IT domain of business services
• Provides rapid response and restoration of production services issues including problem resolution and root cause analysis/remediation
• Leads team(s) through all IT solution development phases by ensuring teams understand and adhere to company methodology, policies, standards, and controls; ensuring team members are trained in SDLC methodologies, models, and processes
• Determines where reasonable returns on investment (ROI) can be made in terms of asset health
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Seasoned experience building microservices, DevOps, Agile
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or related field
10+ years experience in corporate management, project management, IT consulting, or related field
Experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
Experience managing operational and/or project financial budgets
Experience leading cross-functional teams
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, Engineering or related field
Experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership
Experience in a leadership role of a large matrixed organization
Experience managing the development, implementation, and integration of multiple and/or complex business systems within an organization
Experience in IT Consulting
Experience in IT Management in the retail industry
